I get that ciggies have all those disgusting chemicals and worse in them, I do understand that. But if you are just taking all that out, but still dependent on Nicotine, you ARE still a smoker, am I wrong? And been browsing the forum, which I love by the way!! Remember: Just being devils advocate!! Anyways, been reading that you're not supposed to "inhale" the juice.

If I recall this started as a fad in China or somewhere about 10 years ago? What are the health studies done on those guys..

I just don't understand, maybe it's to make one feel better, but 2 wrongs don't make a right??? Is it that you're not "supposed" to inhale the nic, but you still absorb it through your soft tissue in your mouth, nose etc.... so, I STILL see it as smoking.

Are the true "non-smokers" vape just juice, no nic? What happens if the PG/VG ends up being even worse for vapers?

Like I said, I may look up some info later. Been up all night trying to finish my Govt paperwork, now I'm delirious!!

Just a thought, anyways :)

You guys ROCK by the way!!! xo

Oh my goodness, I think I'm out of here! You're not supposed to inhale vapor? Really? That's a new one on me. Despite what has been alleged in a few threads, I can assure you that most will not get a good nic hit or optimum flavor without inhaling. And who cares whether we are called vapers or smokers? Doesn't matter to me.

So, by this logic, Big Pharma's nicotine inhaler is actually promoting smoking.

My main thought is that I would hope 'devil's advocate' would devise a better scheme of trickery than this one. To the devil, I would say, by your definition, I smoke, so what?

To the person with open mind, less concerned about trickery, I would say welcome to the world of vaping. It is similar to smoking, only better.

i often feel guilty for telling people "i quit" or even saying "i dont smoke/i quit smoking" just because my transition from smoking was so immediate and easy. i feel like saying that is an accomplishment that takes real work and will power and switching for me took none of that.

i am happy and proud of myself however for stepping down my nic levels. i still vape when i want, but now have measurable progress on getting rid of nicotine. also vaping at first i felt like more of an addict because i was killing cravings with chain vaping and not feeling satisfied. now that im almost 3 months off cigarettes, i feel like vaping made the urges less urgent if that makes sense. before when i decided it was time for a cig it was time almost no matter what. now, i feel like my cravings are not as strong. when i get a craving now my feelings are more or less yea, i could go for a vape, but when the time is right, not right away. I'm sure it all has to do with the additives and other active ingredients in cigarettes designed to keep you hooked and hit you harder.

as for the health issue, im pretty familiar with VG and PG and their uses, and i feel much better knowing that's all im breathing.
as for cigarettes i never could tell you everything in them but i know what they do to you. but i understand that its's an unknown. i thought it was funny how we all could smoke a pack a day give or take and not think twice, but as soon as we start vaping we all worry about whats in our juice. :) i just think of it as progress towards a healthier life.

i have seen where people say inhaling is not nessesary as most of the nic is absorbed in soft tissue in the mouth/nose and i notice a better nic hit if i exhale thru my nose. i can't "not inhale" out of habit yet, but if i still get my nic and i get used to it i might not inhale anymore either. but for some reason i feel like my lungs have got to be more sensitive/thinner barrier than the mouth throat for absorption.

those are just my feelings that could be totally unfounded. just sharing my :2c:

oh man, a few replies since i finished mine lol, so far just arguments about semantics.

and for the question about what chemicals? PG, VG, flavorings and additives lol.
water is a chemical. its chemical formula? H2O. there's some semantics for you.

remember, your not trying to convince an anti, just humoring the devil's advocate.

Vaping is significantly different from smoking. It replicates some of the aspects of smoking, but it's different enough that not everyone can make the switch easily (I wish all those legislators that panic over e-cigs actually read a forum like this and realized vaping is not smoking). It's much more like using a pharmaceutical nicotine inhalator than it is lighting up a cigarette.

Less cravings from vaping has far less to do with chemical additives in cigarettes and more to do with the slow nicotine delivery of vaping. The nicotine buzz you get from vaping is less intense but lasts longer than a cigarette, so your brain doesn't assosciate vaping as strongly with reward.

It tends to disappear when you post to a thread, but re-appears after you refresh.
