Smoking is exactly what it implies. Inhaling smoke. vaping is vapour, therefore you're vaping.

Sure, you're substituting one habit for another. But you could say the same about drinking Coffee rather than Coke to get Caffeine.

Nicotine isn't the devil in Cigarettes anyway. It gets a bad wrap because it's the chemical most associated with Cigarettes.

In reality, it's pretty harmless.

No, hiding is not the solution. But neither is being an inconsiderate .... My only point is we should be well aware of the political atmosphere and act accordingly. There is no problem vaping in a restaurant or bar if you first ask if it would bother anyone. If they are uncertain, there is your chance to educate. Just because nobody is complaining doesn't mean that people are not put off by it.

This would all be different if the anti-tobacco sentiment wasn't so strong. But many of these people have a major problem with anything that even remotely resembles smoking. Spoiler alert: they have A LOT of political power.

There is a great deal of evidence that vaping is much, much safer than smoking and that as a harm reduction strategy it is very effective and benefits the public's health. We have the facts on our side, but we must be politically astute if we are to succeed.

When the calls to action disappear from this forum, we can all relax. Until then we are fighting a battle that we very well might lose, and lose badly.

For many on this board, just saying "use discretion" equates to "only vape where smoking is allowed" or in some cases it equates to being and ANTZ.

Forsyth County (where long-time online vendor Awesome Vapor is located along with a few other b&m's) is proposing a bill that will equate vaping to smoking. Why? Someone was vaping in a public library. To my understanding, until this incident vaping inside the library was banned but the rule of "25 feet" from the door" for smoking wasn't applied to vaping. Now, because someone didn't use discretion, it will probably be BANNED everywhere smoking is currently banned.

Where we vape has nothing to with why ANTZ are against it.
