I mark my paired batteries with a cd ink pen and then wrap them in a second crystal clear shrink wrap. Never had a problem with that.
I do the same thing when I first use new batteries. Using a permanent marker, date them, and put abbrevieations for 'single mod', 'duel mod (and pair number), etc.

Then wrap on top of them with a second clear wrap. Done....

Like others have said, stick with the quality brand names, LG, Sony, Samsung, AW, Sanyo, Etc.

I still have LG HE4’s (2500mAh 20A) made in 2014 that are just starting to show wear. All about keeping info on them as to what to use them for, how much you let them drain, How they are Charged and Stored/Rotated, etc.

I have some recently bought LG HE4’s that were still made in 2014 that run as good as when they were made! It’s all about Great Chemistry, Storage Conditions and Storage Charge, Especially when bought from a reputable dealer.

I saw someone mentioned something about a vendor showing alot of their batteries Unprotected & Protected. I believe Liion Wholesale offers certain LG and Samsung batteries Protected such as the LG MJ1 & F1L. More for Flashlight usage.

Please correct me if something is wrong, I fell off Vaping for a while but slowly working on switching back. I always try to keep up with Mooch’s tests though, he has proven himself over a Billion Times!

Also I have been using a good bit of 18650 Flashlight’s lately and have been using my cells that were originally for my Vape Mods. Lol

Where does everyone buy their batteries from?? I've been using imrbatteries but their shipping went up A LOT, like $12 and we're in the same state! So who do I buy from now? What's a TRUSTED site?

On Mooch's chart, the blue row is a list of trusted vendors.

IMR's on it, but there's also a number of others you can check out. I only wish there were some in Canada.

I use IMRbatteries.com and their shipping went up, I think before it was inexpensive or free, IIRC. It still wasn't a TON maybe $4, but yeah.

I've also used Liion (I think it's called) but I remember things being a hair pricier. Might have been what I was buying though.

Best of luck getting it sorted out.

I've been using RTD Vapor for several years. When they didn't have the batteries I was seeking, I used IMR Batteries. Below is not an exclusive list, but they are pretty much universally recognized as trusted vendors by ECF members, including Mooch.

I do that, also. I use a Brother labelmaker with 1/4" tape. I put the month and year on the label, stick it on, and over wrap with a clear shrink tube. The wrap with a label can make the battery a snug fit, but it slides right in and doesn't rattle.

I don't like to have paper stickers on my batteries, because some of my mods already have a very tight batterycompartment, and anything that sticks out is more prone to damage as well, so adding unnecessary width isn't an option for me.

It does make a difference if the mod is tight without it. I find that my cells slide right into my Pico, Eleaf, DNA75, and most other mods, even with the Brother label under the clear wrap. I guess it depends on the final thickness of the labelmaker tape and the shrink wrap. The Brother tape is very thin, unlike 20# paper labels.
