just gonna add, if you look at my post in the voting, I only voted for the juices I use. I think I voted in only 3 of the categories, so I am not inflating votes for anything that I don't use...just voting for the juices I use and personally like.
If you feel your vendor of choice should be better represented in the voting, then feel free to contact them and see how they want to go about promoting it to their customers. There is no rule that the vendor cannot promote the awards voting to their customers, in fact it is encouraged, the more voters the better
well maybe not for me cause I gotta count them all, but that's on me and the choice I made to do so
What he is doing is promoting awareness, just like CASSAA or any other group/politician out there, they promote awareness of the voting and then its your choice to vote or not for whatever juice is your favorite from whichever vendor
He actually has/is promoting the winning of the 2013 awards on his website. He was and is still very excited by that. Its still up there
As an aside, I do believe there is a thread or at least there was last year, where votes for best vendors was listed, I used that thread when I was looking for a juice to make my adv. I didn't actually go with the top one. I went with HHV which I think was in the top 10. Liked what I had from them, but then found my ADV from Nicoticket, which at that time wasn't even on that list.
sorry all I am not quoting, just commenting as I read. Don't take anything I say personally. feel free to comment on my post or attack or heck even pm me if you have any questions.
I will say though, If anybody wants to change their votes to a different juice, it should be done before I like the post. Once I like the post any changes to that post will not be counted. Once I count your votes the post will be liked.
Edit: wanted to add Clark likes every post he reads positive or negative. and that he will take any criticism into account as long as its constructive.
I hear you, and thanks for taking the time to tabulate the results. On the other hand, do you not find it a little troubling that it could be perceived as a Nicoticket promotion tool. Perhaps if you could change it to the most popular on ECF instead of 'Best of " ? I mean i realize that the decks are not stacked and fans of all vendors could vote, but i personally find it a little strange that the results are so clearly not indicative of the general ECF vaping population. It just can't be that 90 % of of ECF'ers think that Nico has the best juices in all categories.
For the record, i have nothing but praise for how Nicoticket is run, and i have tried four different Nico juices and i think they are fine juices.
I'm going to restate my comment. Never tried Nicoticket juices, so I have no opinion on them. Nor will I vote , because I am too new to have tried enough juices to feel like I'm informed.
The original post is asking if NicoTickets approach is fair / acceptable? I think it's great business sense to try and win and reach out to his loyal customers for support.
It's a 100% subjective poll of what do you like best. It becomes free advertising for him....and apparently by winning in a few categories last year he has seen tremendous growth in his business. Good for him.
I'd like to ask why his competition didn't follow suit and get out the vote themselves. Just my two cents.
I agree wholeheartedly that it doesn't necessarily mean 90% of ECF members think it's the best juice out there. It means he has done an excellent job of telling his customers about this poll. And by doing so, he got some great publicity.
Sounds like a smart businessman to me.
That would be up to DanG as hes the head cheese on this, I just do the grunt work lol
but all I can say is get the word out there, the more votes the better
also perception is like opinions, don't matter what you say, what they/you think or believe is how they/you see things, myself included![]()
So as far as this contest, best of ECF goes, a vendor can do this-
Nicoticket sends out emails to all his customers/newsletter subscribers asking for them to vote and provides a link. No other vendor does that! Almost stuffing the ballot box, or making a campaign out of it. When he wins all categories, which he will, he'll then post a big "Voted number one on ECF" on his website. Maybe it's a smart business move, but kinda slimy IMO. He even goes so far to "like" all the posts that vote for him. In that type of instance, the ECF rules for vendors have grey areas
But they can't participate in discussions? I don't get it. They can abuse being a vendor when it matters, like a contest which by nature should be fair, but they are mistrusted that they will abuse being a vendor when it comes to a regular thread where people are just discussing juices?

It's just not a very good contest if only one vendor is campaigning for it.
I think most people won't even notice it or vote in it, so it seems like if one vendor sends out links and reminders, it's just a club page for that vendor.
Did any other vendors even get any votes? It's not exactly a tight race if only one vendor gets the votes because on one vendor is campaining.
Very simply, it would not have remained open if that were the case.
Some groups are just more enthusiastic than others ( ProVari, REO...)
Seriously folks, don't make it out for any more than what it is...just...HAVE SOME FUN !!!
When it becomes so lopsided, people don't take it seriously any more. Almost feels that they don't want to legitimize it by voting.
Seriously, what planet are we living on here?
Other juice vendors don't care enough/aren't active enough on ECF to take the time to inform their customers about an UNOFFICIAL contest, so that justifies insinuations about Nicoticket and the people who support it?
Going so far as to suggest they're intentionally skewing results because their customer base actually cares enough to vote/voice their opinions?
Nicoticket has shipped a grand total of 30876 orders since coming into existence, a number likely dwarfed by the total lifetime volume of the older 'big name' vendors.
Even if those 30876 orders were unique individuals (we know some had to be reorders), that's still a tiny # of people compared to someone like AVE, or MM.
It simply comes down to the fact that customers of those vendors (me included) are apparently not as passionate about the product as Nicoticket customers.
The whole its already skewed so why even vote thing is just lol, there's plenty of people voting for non-NT juices that think its obv worthwhile.
