I'm pretty sure you need a minimum of 15 posts before you can edit your signature with a counter, but once you can, just click on mine (or one you like) and it will take you to the website to get your own, then come back and go to User CP at the top left side of this page, and you can insert the link (url) in your signature line.

how about ''Hey stranger, want all the benefits of smoking without the horrible taste and death?'' (take a pause for dramatic effect and pull out your PV and take a long drag) ''with my personal vaproizer (tell them its a PV instead of an ecig, makes it sound more magical) i can get all the nicotine and flavor i want without annihilating my lungs''

PV's are dual-functioned. Not only can they provide me with nicotine but they also act as a divining rod for finding fake quitters. There are those of us who want to quit, and those of us who try but ultimately like smoking too much. If they show genuine interest in it than theres a glimmer of hope for them quitting. The other category of people will instantly dismiss it in their head as another scam (ie nothing works i've tried the patch the gum the blah blah blah, nope i'll just keep smoking). You can instantly find out who's a smoker for life and who has a chance of quitting.

Kind of depressing really :S

What gets to me the most is when people give me that face, that smirky 'yeah sure buddy' face, as if I haven't done any research on the subject and am just a sheep falling into some marketing ploy. Can't get hung up too much on that though some people are just wired that way...

Exactly. That's why unless they ask me about it I just mind my own life.

I throw darts on Monday nights at a smoking bar, one of my team mates ( a youngster of 20 something) had her doctor tell her to quit smoking, and she is addicted like all of us have been...I have ordered so many mods that I can't use them all, so I had an extra Bartleby and some menthol cartos that I don't like so I gave it to her and now she uses the usb on the bartleby at her work, but I still found her with a cig in her mouth at darts..but she is trying, now I have another teamate wanting one, so that's a good thing, so I sent to the ECF for studying...now I have to work on the bartender, she is trying to quit, and she even mentioned ecig to her doctor, now this is where I get fumed...the doctor told her that the juice is laced with antifreeze and will kill her and she is afraid to even try, I told her that her doctor was wrong, and she needed to investigate on her own if she didn't believe me...I don't know why it is so hard for people to understand, unless they really don't want to quit the cigs...I know I did quit after starting back after 13 years of no nicotine, and knew I had to do something...and I feel great, so I will continue to get people to at least listen or read about ecigs...

I would not only have told her that her doctor is wrong, but that her doctor is apparently the one trying to kill her, and that she should find a new doctor before the ignorance of her current doctor really does her some serious harm.

This thread got me thinking about what I might say to my husband when he gets back home and I'm not smoking Newports (sorry I'm not comfortable saying analogs lol) anymore but using a PV instead. I haven't had the chance to tell him yet since I haven't heard from him in a couple of days (he's deployed with the Air Force right now).

I'm hoping that it is an ok conversation, since he's been a smoker for half his life and I for only 7 years off and on (quit when I got preggo twice). I just want him to try it, I won't push it, but I'll be super happy if he just try's. And maybe I can get him to quit Newports as well and we can save a ton of money (uhh maybe not right away after buying supplies LOL) not smoking anymore. Plus he whines all the time about having to smoke outside, he'd get pissy if I was vaping inside and he'd have to smoke outside LOL.
"If you vaped you wouldn't have to throw on clothes and shoes and a jacket to have 5 minutes in the cold for a little bit of nicotine, you could just do it" or something like that. Probably with more cussing involved lol.

I wouldn't say anything to him until he actually sees you using it once he returns home, then you can enlighten him as to what vaping is all about. If anything, I would think it would be a pleasant surprise for him, especially once you start explaining all the benefits of vaping over smoking.

Also, I thank both you and him for your service to our country. All too often the "other half" is forgotten and I always said that it really takes a special breed of woman to be a serviceman's wife.

Good to see everyone got their banners working :) (I'd get one but I don't remember exactly when I quit)

Like others said, a snazzy one-liner to strangers sounds way too much like a sales pitch. I don't mention it to anyone unless they ask me or I know they are really trying to quit. As probably most smokers/ex-smokers know it is incredibly annoying when a stranger would tell you about the dangers of smoking, especially in a pompous way, like "really? You don't say? I didn't know!!" Informing people is fine, but just by vaping in front of them you are informing them enough as to where if they cared they should ask about it.

Almost the only people that care (in a good way) that I vape are non-smokers, and almost no smoker I know gives a crap at all, and thinks it's silly. I was hanging out with one of my friends who has been trying to quit since forever, and he was on nic gum, really hurting and twitching, etc, while STILL smoking (just less). I sat there happy as can be vaping away and told him about it because my non-smoking friend told him about the benefits, and I told him about the 510 I got for $35 online, instead of like 100-something they charge in the mall and that it is better and he actually told me "ppsssss! I wouldn't pay $20 for that thing!"... while shaking, upset, and spending whatever amount the nic gum costs, and STILL smoking at $8 a pack.... And I've had other experiences like that with smokers... They are adults, they can be stupid if they want to, I'm not gunna lecture anyone, especially if I don't know them.

And, again, I think a sales pitch would turn people off of vaping more than help them. I used to smoke a lot more when people gave me crap about it out of spite.

But that's my opinion. Good luck with whatever you decide. Cheers!
