I’m looking for the best small temperature control mod under $100 with a removable battery. I’m currently using a subtank nano, with rebuilt occ coil heads around .7ohm, on an eleaf istick 30w. My next purchase I was expecting to be a second tank, but the battery on the istick is starting to not keep a charge well. After a year of use I think its just the nature of built in batteries, which is why I’d really like a removable battery this go round.

I’m not 100% sure I’ll like the tc but I like the concept, so I’d defiantly like one with tc, if nothing else to try and know whether its for me or not. Ive looked at some of the local shops and saw a few that caught my interests but I wanted some thoughts on them or other options around the same size.

IVP D3 - I found a lot of positive about it on the fourm but doesn’t have upgradable firmware and doesnt do stainless steel coils. How big of a deal are those?

evic vct mini - Also found lots of positive things but the one in the local shop felt very plasticy. Are they all this plasticy? I’m also not sure about how boxy it is, which sounds like a ridiculous complaint for a box mod.

vapor flask lite - I haven’t found much about it in the fourms and at the most expensive of the 3, I’d hate to get it and it be not good. I’m also kind of confused what coils it runs in tc mode, because every source I look at says sometning diffrent? It was the most comfortable feeling but I guess I’m gun shy since I can’t find many impressions out there.

Anything else out there around the same size ~85x40x22 mm worth looking at?

The Cloupor Mini + is a good little 50W TC mod and it's only $30. The door can be a little loose for some, easily remedied by a silicone sleeve. Doesn't support SS though.
77.5x36x22mm

Box mods will be boxy. TC can be switched off.

I might be explaining the "boxy" issue with the evic a bit incorrectly. It just felt very awkward in the hand for me, maybe because I'm used to a curvier mod or maybe just the proportions I'm not sure.

The main reason I'm interested in the SS is because it seems to be more easy to find SS for rebuilding here than titanium. Though I am going to check out the plus, because I didn't realize the cloupor mini has a tc version.

it hasn't been delivered to my door yet but does the eleaf pico interest you? small, single 18650, TC, TCR, 75 watts. if you're into tiny then this might be the best bang for your buck. $25-$35 for the express kit.

I had looked at the pico but had originally dismissed it because I could only find it as a kit with the tank, which I was unsure of. Any links to where has the express kit with just the mod? Also when you get it I'd be interested to know about how you feel about the controls on the bottom, or any other experiences with bottom buttons.

if I were to get a single battery mod it would prob be the pico, since I assume the point of a single battery (18650) is for its form factor. But from what I've gathered it only fits 22mm attys due to the battery cap

The single battery is partially about form function, its also size in the hand. I have tiny hands, lol. Right now with nano I'm not too worried about tank size, but thanks for bringing up the pico only being able to hold a 22mm, because it sparked my brain to look back at the tanks to see the size of the ones I've been interested and if they'll fit because I'd been looking more at the height.

I'm a fan of the eVic mini and don't feel it as plasticy. But think about getting a silicone sleeve for it if you want it to feel a little more substantial. It also helps with the boxy feel.

The nugget might be another to consider but you might have the same boxy issue with it.

I think it was the finish on the vct mini that made it feel plasticy to me, how have you found the finish to hold up? Also what color do you have, I know for some mods they feel a bit diffrent from color to color.

Does the nugget have a removable battery? If not I think the battery life on it might not hold up long enough with being that small.

There's a softness to the evic finish a little like the D3 but I found it's kept up really well for me. Not a scratch on the black finish. It seems more durable than my istick tc100. (The screen has some scratches that bothers me more than they should. I regret not putting some sort of screen protector on the LCD).

I get the boxy thing and agree with you but it's not a deal breaker for me.

The nugget uses an internal battery.

Owed the VTC Mini since it first came out. Felt like a new mod everytime a new firmware update came out. The finish is a bit messed up after all these months but the finish on my D3 scratches off easier. Check out the eLeaf Pico or the newer Cuboid Mini if you're into upgradable firmware. If you like things simple the D3 is a good option to consider.

A vtc mini is my all day everyday mod. It's fine, no complaints. I'm going to have a Pico too but that's a few weeks away. Right now the vtc mini has to be the best selling single cell mod available, that's also proven. I keep mine in either a faux leather case or a silicont sleeve.

Its good to know that that the vct mini has sold so well. I'll check out some of the cases.

Plus 1 for the PICO, been enjoying it for a few days now. Controls are easy to use, TC has been rock solid.
Got it here.
Eleaf iStick PICO Simple Kit - $39.00 : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes
29.25 shipped with discount code, president, best price Ive found to date!

Thanks I'll check out Rocky Mountain Vapor.

Thanks for letting me know how the finish has held up.

Wismec Presa TC 75w- has same board as the Evic Mini (upgradeable FW, Power/Bypass/TC/VW modes, TCR memory presets, SS/Ti/Ni modes, etc.) in a smoother form. Under $35.00 at several places.

I haven't seen the wismec presa yet, I'll check it out.

Is the cuboid mini a built in battery? I can't find any info specifically about the battery. Also anyone know the height of the cuboid mini without the tank or if it can be used with other tanks, I'm not sure how I feel about the square tank.

i really like my evic mini. but whatever you do decide to buy make sure it has the ability to set user defined tcr values.

This might sound like a stupid question but what are tcr values? I've seen them listed on many of the lists for the mods and by a few users but I don't really understand how they are different from the other temperature control options.

That's really cheap compared to the G2. Not all that enthused about Hohm, or 26650s, so I probably won't be getting this.

I have a Presa 75, a Pico, & a couple VTC Minis. They're all great single 18650 mods. Of the three the Presa is the most comfortable to hold, the VTC is the most solid, and the Pico is the smallest in the hand. The VTC also has the nicest screen. I honestly love all three of them. There's really no wrong choice.

If you are simply looking for the most pocket friendly then the Pico is the easy winner.

I can't find any specific dimensions for the Hohm Slice, the might not be posted anywhere yet, but I'll keep it in mind.

Can I ask why you specifically don't like hhm or 26650s?

It's great to know you like all of them. I am leaning towards the Pico, because over half the time I'm out & about so the pocket friendly is a pretty important factor for me.

I'd recommend the Pico for a few reasons; it's the easiest to carry in any pocket, it has a newer chip and menu system than the Presa 75W and VTC Mini, the battery cap is much more secure than a magnetic plate, and last but definitely not least; the Pico has a better 510 connection than the other mods in question, with deeper threads. This means that there won't be any wobble to any of your toppers when they're fully screwed onto the Pico, unlike the others. Joyetech's "old" 510 connection is worth tolerating on the RX200, but not so much the Presa 75W or VTC Mini.

If you want a 26650 mod, the Presa TC100W, (which also has the improved 510 connection), is pretty cool, but fills a different role, of course.

I have plenty of 18650s, plus they tend to be better than 26650s.

Hohm tends to have a somewhat "immature" strategy (vape porn mode, hohm (home) wrecker), but mainly their pseudo-scientific lingo which seems to hide some bs claims. I just don't trust them very much.
