Ok so when will these show up on the site? Can you use a 510 drip tip with these? I only use the DT's now. A lot easier to take off to refill.

Yes, they have a 510 tube on them so you could use a 510 drip tip on them. Iken is the one who knows when they will become available.
I'm on my 6th refill and it still vapes like the first time I filled it. Great carto.

Sorry for being late out of the gate. I was a little confused wrt if these puppies were for testing or not, hey I had a senior moment! Regardless I have been vaping these off an on for the past week.

At first I am going WTF, why the fusion? Why would anyone want to vape a 510 carto on an 801 device, since the majority of us have moved away from pen style batteries? Then it dawned on me. Some folks who vape the 801 have a native 801 connector, duh! It makes sense.

The cons
I am starting with the cons today. If this carto is to be used on a non native connector, if may be too airy for you, it was for me. Although I have adjusted my 801 adapter for maximum stiffness, the exposed air holes on the periphery of the connection allows for too much air flow to the atty.

Now I have seen reports that some folks prefer an airier draw, and that is cool. Perhaps my question would be. why do you prefer to suck in air vs vapour? The more air you suck through the atomiser the less vapour you are sucking into your lungs, it seems simple to me as your lungs can only accept X volume.

Is there any way to stiffen the draw on this cartomiser? Well yes, sheath it. I used a 5/16" length of condom to cover the peripheral air holes and that tightened the draw just nice, for me using an adapter. The downside of this method, it cannot be used on the eGo with cone. The cone will not slip over with the condom in place.

Using the carto without the condom on an eGo is only marginally better. The draw is stiffened somewhat but still too airy for my liking.

OK, let's move this puppy to a native connection. I installed this carto on the Chameleon fitted with a native 801 connection, this stiffened the draw somewhat. The condom stiffened the draw too much IMO.

Discussion
All cartos fresh out of the box are airy. After a little bit of use and subsequent refills they will indeed stiffen up on their own to a degree, and they have.

It was discussed here that it would be cool to have the air holes exposed vice having to remove the band. I am on the fence with this one. I shall attempt to explain.

Exposing the holes does solve a problem with improper construction that we have seen in some 801 atomisers in the past and continue to do so, some are simply too stiff. Do we merely fix the problem (no band) or find a solution? It all comes down to QC of certain mfrs, some have great QA/C others well...

The advantage of having the exposed holes along the periphery (two) allows the user to manipulate the air flow, vice having a "fixed" airflow (banded atty). This can be achieved with a piece of condom as previously explained. Cuting a small V in the condom would permit sealing one hole vs two. So a certain degree of manipulation of the air flow can be achieved.

The Pros
After what seemed like negativity, there are pros? Well yes! First impressions IMO is exactly that, first impressions, no must no fuss. Place X on the device after a fill or whatever and vape. What do you think of it, the gut feeling you get, does it meet your expectations?
  • It has an 801 connection, folks that have been waiting for an 801 cartomiser will be happy;
  • it will fit an eGo with cone (without the condom of course);
  • it has an airy draw, to some this is important;
  • they are etched on the side to indicate what they are IKV LR; and
  • the air flow (draw) can be manipulated to suit your vaping needs/style.
IMO without discussing the cons first, it would have prevented me to highlight the pros of this fusion.

Test
As usual this carto was tested in the usual manner with RY4 and BB Menthol. It has not been tested at the upper end of its range yet (4.2V). But has been tested on the eGo at 3.2 and 3.7V respectively as well as the Chameleon at 3.7V with a native connection. The cartos metered out at 2Ohms.

These cartos will accept 35 drops and require topping off after an hour or two and accept 10-15 drops. The have not heated up on me in comparison with other cartos.

Regardless of which device these were vaped on, unlike other cartos I have tested they require a couple of primer puffs to get them going. This could be the result of the airyness previously discussed or the coil taking too long to heat up.

There was no funky taste out of the box and the flavour of the liquid delivered as expected. Throat hit and vapour production were decent, but pales in comparison with other units Isaac developed. I would rate these on all 3 aspects (F, V, TH) as 3/5.

In conclusion
I was late out of the gate, but at the same time I was not initially impressed with them for previously stated reasons. I allowed time to elapse before rendering my observations in hope that my initial impressions would change, they have but only to a degree. Does this mean that previously posted observations are inaccurate or wrong? By all means NO! It just means that all things will not suit everyone, all the time.

Isaac's BETA testers
In discussion with Isaac on numerous occasions, Isaac sought out to find testers with differing styles etc... in the continuing development of his products. As discussed the broadness of our reviews and recommendations have provided him with the necessary information to adjust/improve on the product. How he uses our information is entirely up to him, but I do know that everything is taken under advisement and all comments are welcomed.

I have been a proponent of IkenVape's attys for quite some time. Of late I have tested many cartomisers. My reviews are limited to Iken's line as I have chosen IkenVape as my source supplier for all my atomiser and carto needs. Why? Consistency of performance, dependability, not to mention one stop shopping for varying resistance etc...

When discussing new products, they are being compared against his existing line. He has some top performers as seen is previous reviews and, some require tweaking, that is why we are BETA testing these units.

I was gifted an LR 306 at 2Ohms. All my equipment is carefully chosen. I don't jump on hype wagons so to speak, but lay in wait for reviews. When the 306 hit the street, the fanfare that surrounded it was WOW, and everybody was off and running. My question was, this atty has been around for quite some time, so why all the fuss now? Look at the hype of the CE2s, veteran vapers seem to have reservations wrt this carto even with rev 4. This should mean something.

Anyway, Isaac was surprised when I told him I enjoyed the LR306 as he thought it would be too hot for my style. I am not an LR fan, but I must admit that the LR306 is all the hype it should be and then some, it does indeed perform as stated :thumbs:

As can be seen if things perform I will indeed state it. OTOH if they are only so so, I will state that too. That's what is great about vaping. Unlike stinkies, there is enough equipment out there these days to meet every vapers need and style :) That being said, finding the right combo could prove hit and miss, but hopefully these tests/reviews will make your decisions a little easier.

These are but my firat impressions and I will do a follow up in weeks to come, complete with post mortem.

One of the keys here I see is CHOICES & STYLES OF VAPERS, just like analogs, hence some use camels, some lights, some mediums, some reg, some menthol, and some reg tobacco flavor. When I first tried this Carto I was impressed with the difference in the draw, I right away thought (different) and thought there would be people that would like this lighter airy draw compared to sucking harder to get a hit and liked how that different draw was compared to some other cartos, I don't think its so much the airy draw but the "ease" of that draw and the amount of vapor produced from it.

I then took a simple piece of scotch tape and covered one hole and saw right away the difference. That made me think about some of the gals that vape and how they may like a bit of a draw with more "ease" to it, the point I'm getting at is CHOICES, I think this is a good thing to have these choices and the more variations people have the more they will find something that meets there wants & needs. So, how many different choices will a vendor offer here and is it even going to come down to one or two holes in a carto ? My thoughts are it may, also who will go this far to carry it all just like analogs a lot of vendors only carry so much and only have so many choices. I happen to like the way this carto is made just like it is and though we are individually testing it I am not only thinking of myself but how some others may like or dislike it because of the different styles of vapors.

Testing it as built I have to wonder still what a Mega version would be like. I think Megas will become bigger sellers for those who like using cartos simply for the amount of juice they tend to hold over regular size cartos and them lasting longer without refilling. One of the best things here in all of this that Issac is doing I feel is creating choices for people and being able to pick a quality carto that suits them. I feel this carto may suit many as is but again I would like to see it in a mega version and I also wonder what that would do to the draw it being a Mega would that change it since it will be bigger and have more filler in it and make it perfect for my likings, maybe we will find out maybe we wont but I do like this carto it's just different.!

That was a selling point for me. To get all that vapor without my eyeballs depressing from a hard draw. I don't care for airy but with these the vapor is massive to compinsate for air. I also love the fact that I don't need to take those loooong draws to get a decent hit. I like these better than any others I've tried to date and I have a bunch. I do wished they were megas though. The other down fall is I've been using up too much juice because I can't put it down.

Thanks Isaac for another incredible cartomizer.

Dang Angus, not again?

Switched, I wondered if they would fit the cone on an Ego with that 801 part being bigger. Great review.

I think it would work with scotch tape vice the condom.
