I'm not a big fan of insurance companies, either. Sounds like you're speaking from personal experience, gpc. Sorry about that.

My wife was at a stop light when a 3/4 ton dodge P/U rear ended our corolla doing almost 50. He hit the brakes about 2 seconds before impact, he was too busy ripping his teenage kid a new one for ditching school, lookup said OH SH that's about all he got out according to him. Well come to find out his wife and let the ins lapse (according to him anyway) and the only ins that was on the truck which by the way wasn't hurt bad enough to need any body or frame work was the loan on the thing so our ins had to cover it. We ended up with an attorney and the day before court they caved and did 90% of what they were supposed to do. Yup that's the insurance company that "DOES THE RIGHT THING" according to their TV adds. not.

I'm sad to hear that, gpc. Being in California, you should have taken it up with the state insurance commissioner. Complaints like that get expensive for companies very quickly.

The attorney filed all kinds of complaints, it did end up costing them in the hight 5 figures in fines.
