Who else thought fuzznut was pmos? Same avatar...
You are not alone....I did a double-take before I realized it wasn't pmos.
Fuzznut, thank you for the great battery saver technique.

I forgot it had already been established that pmos is standing on his nuts.

Thank you! Very detailed instructions and nice photos. So now we have hope for auto batteries.
I took a good working battery and injected some juice into it with a syringe. It replicated the video perfectly, right side up it turns on, upside down it shuts off. When enough juice is inside to create a seal around the battery itself, the juice movement will create pressure fluctuations inside depending on the orientation of the battery.
Hmmmm..wonders how many people will kill a perfectly good battery now, just to check that out. Times like these I really miss Analog, wonder where he is?
What makes you think the battery is "killed"? After the experiment, I cleaned the batt and it's working like new again.

Nawwwww, if one person had an issue with 1 battery, there could be a possibility of juice causing it. But 2 people with 4 batteries doing that all bought from the same place? Something is wrong with them. Leaford already said he'd replace them so I'd take him up on that![]()

Well, we could only get it once out of three tries, but if it flows to the right place and forms a seal, there you go. One guy having it happen to three batts is just plain weird though.
I did not notice it at all until Frick pointed it out.FUzznuts, I was already thinking of naming my little Siberian Chipmunk Scrat after the little guy in your avatar, but now, I'm thinking Fuzznuts. Of course, first I have to manage to get ahold of and handle him or her well enough to find out whether s/he HAS nuts.

And BTW, this only underscores how important it is to blow through your cartos after refilling them and make sure that No liquid is blown out. Blow against a tissue a first, but when you think it's dry, blow it against sensitive skin, like the back of your hand and see if you feel any moisture at all.
It's not that it only takes that tiny amount, it's that that tiny amount may indicate the carto has a larger amount, as much as .1 or .2 ml, waiting to seep out and into the batt. Do that a few cartos here and there and it adds up.

Not really, I let a problematic battery sit for 2 weeks before I decided to clean it. You would take a short puff and it would stay on until it blinked and shut itself off. I posted about how to clean it here:

Get the battery nice and warm to amplify the effect. I put mine in the corner of a freezer ziplock, LED pointing up, with a patch of paper towel on the bottom, and put that in a cup of hotish water. Hot enough that it feels like you've been vaping hardcore for 5 minutes - hot to the touch, but not so hot that you cant pick it up. After my battery was in the heat for five minutes I pulled it out and saw a spot of juice on the paper towel. A few flicks of the wrist and my bloog battery is again operating at normal parameters.
I've been very careful with these and still got caught...
Here's a thought - what can I shove down the battery hole to soak up any excess?
