I took a good working battery and injected some juice into it with a syringe. It replicated the video perfectly, right side up it turns on, upside down it shuts off. When enough juice is inside to create a seal around the battery itself, the juice movement will create pressure fluctuations inside depending on the orientation of the battery.

Exactly the results I found today with my engineer. Thanks for the independant confirmation.

What makes you think the battery is "killed"? After the experiment, I cleaned the batt and it's working like new again.

Now, that I didn't try, but good idea. It's an opportunity to test out the batt cleaning method with the silicon dioxide packets. If I have enough. I've saved up 4 or 5 from tupperware containers and snack packets.

You are not alone....I did a double-take before I realized it wasn't pmos. :)

Fuzznut, thank you for the great battery saver technique.

I did not notice it at all until Frick pointed it out. FUzznuts, I was already thinking of naming my little Siberian Chipmunk Scrat after the little guy in your avatar, but now, I'm thinking Fuzznuts. Of course, first I have to manage to get ahold of and handle him or her well enough to find out whether s/he HAS nuts.

And BTW, this only underscores how important it is to blow through your cartos after refilling them and make sure that No liquid is blown out. Blow against a tissue a first, but when you think it's dry, blow it against sensitive skin, like the back of your hand and see if you feel any moisture at all.

It's not that it only takes that tiny amount, it's that that tiny amount may indicate the carto has a larger amount, as much as .1 or .2 ml, waiting to seep out and into the batt. Do that a few cartos here and there and it adds up.

Nawwwww, if one person had an issue with 1 battery, there could be a possibility of juice causing it. But 2 people with 4 batteries doing that all bought from the same place? Something is wrong with them. Leaford already said he'd replace them so I'd take him up on that :)

Well, we could only get it once out of three tries, but if it flows to the right place and forms a seal, there you go. One guy having it happen to three batts is just plain weird though.

Maybe not... it seems some juice DID get into my batteries, might be I overfilled a cart and when one batt acted up I just switched the batt and not the cart allowing juice to leak into the new batt.

I dunno, I've been super careful about filling the carts. Could something like "condensation" build up in the battery over time?

Haha, a chipmunk? I thought I was weird owning 4 rats. No problem identifying those, lol!

Great advice and now when I put the carto back on the batt after refilling, I keep it horizontal for a few puffs to make sure that no juice will find its way down there. You can tell when a cart is filled too much, the vapor is weak and wet. Once vapor output increases, I'm good to stick it in my shirt pocket.

I'm reviving this thread for a hearty thanks. I was about to post a new topic on how to fix my batt. It was lighting, but sending no current to the carto. I'm pretty sure I flooded it, yesterday, using some older, leaky cartos. Just realized today that since it was still lighting, it couldn't possibly be DEAD dead.

A few good shakes towards the carto end (like I do to clear liquid from a carto) and it was firing up again! And thanks to Fuzznut, if it starts acting up again, I'll know how to clean it. I went and ordered a new batt and cartos, so it's not a priority. But it's definitely sticky topic worthy info.

Get the battery nice and warm to amplify the effect. I put mine in the corner of a freezer ziplock, LED pointing up, with a patch of paper towel on the bottom, and put that in a cup of hotish water. Hot enough that it feels like you've been vaping hardcore for 5 minutes - hot to the touch, but not so hot that you cant pick it up. After my battery was in the heat for five minutes I pulled it out and saw a spot of juice on the paper towel. A few flicks of the wrist and my bloog battery is again operating at normal parameters.

I've been very careful with these and still got caught...

Here's a thought - what can I shove down the battery hole to soak up any excess?

I've had this happen to several batteries as well...

I'm assuming that you are blowing on the battery end to force the juice into the filler and the excess out the mouth end.

Not really, I let a problematic battery sit for 2 weeks before I decided to clean it. You would take a short puff and it would stay on until it blinked and shut itself off. I posted about how to clean it here:

Excellent... I wish I hadn't thrown away my out of warranty batts.
