Reonauts, even a $1 donation helps, any amounts are welcome. If 100 people give $1 that's $100. Boroscoped and his wife would have never asked if there was another way. This is very stressful and humiliating to have to ask and lay open your life when you would rather not. This is their last ditch effort. They are running out of time quickly to try and start their and could use our help. If you can spare anything it will mean a great deal to them.

Please PM me for details if you need the information. Thank you. And Boroscoped and his wife will thank you.

So, there is another lady here at my base that my wife talks to that is going through the same thing, and she is seeing if the base might cover any of the medication costs. Hoping to hear back something positive about this, as we might be able to do the same if it works out for her.

Honestly though, with how we've been treated so far, I'm not holding my breath on this one, so still pushing on ahead with planning to cover it on our own.

Other than that, still just building up the money for now. A little over $3K away right now, between us saving and any donations coming in. Once we hit the target, we'll be starting it up.

So, the wife has put out feelers to raise money. She has offered to walk dogs, clean, animal sit, babysit, anything she can come up with to raise some more money faster. She just agreed to do some dog walking for a person in our tiny town three days a week for 30-60 minutes per day, on a donation basis.

In other news, she's going to participate in her first 5K tomorrow, something she couldn't have done a year ago!

BlueSnake, thank you for keeping an eye on this also, and to everyone that has helped out already!

I mentioned wax tarts the other day, and before we started saving for this, the wife used to buy the candles/soaps from those small businesses that put jewelry or cash in them. One of the pieces she got was a gold ring with a mystic topaz and diamonds that she loves.

Well, time for the jewelry to start going also. I guess she posted on the IVF pages we have links for about selling it off now. She also listed it up on her candle/wax tart group forums (I guess they trade/buy/sell on those forums the items they get, kinda like baseball cards if you like to think of it that way.)

The base hospital and TriCare insurance will not pay for the medications if it is for IVF procedures, just found that out. If they determined that she needed them for something else, they'd pay for it, but not for IVF. Stupid IMO, ok make us pay for the procedure, but they could at least help with the medications.

No further donations yet. The art show thing, nothing came of that. Wife starts dog walking Monday. Between walking to her volunteer job, going to the other house to dog walk, and walking our dog, she's estimating about 11 miles now a day she'll be walking at max. She cleared the 5K at about 49 minutes the other day, which she wasn't happy with, until I told her that that was her new record, she's never done I that fast before, simply because she hasn't ever done it before, so she did great! Yes, I got brownie points for that one LOL.

You are so awesome for pointing out her 5k time to her!! Thats what goo guys do :) Mine, well he thinks he is hilarious - he wouldve asked what took me so long LOL. I hope the dog walking and the general good health benefits of her walking all pay off well and fingers crossed on the ring :D

*we are all pulling for you two!*

So, quick update, 8 weeks left to go before we are trying to start this up.

Get this, if we were based at a military facility near one of the 6 main military hospitals, total treatment would cost approximately $5500 (treatment and meds, no transportation reimbursement). That cost would also be out of pocket though. Too bad the base I'm at isn't one of the main hospitals LOL.

Her dose prescription right now for the Gonal F shots are apparently a very high dose (normal is 78 IUI, her prescription is currently 300 IUI). Hopefully doesn't cause overstimulation, which would cancel the whole thing. Worst case scenario from overstimulation would kill the ovaries.... Or so the wife tells me from what she's found out from others that have gone through and reading up on IVF.

So, wife told me yesterday that since the end of October / beginning of November, she's dropped 40 lbs. this is great, since if your BMI is too high, doctors won't perform IVF on you. She's still got a little more to go so the doctors are comfortable, but I think she'll get there on schedule... Or at least I hope so!

Aside from that, nothing at this time to update. No further donations at this time yet either.
