Bought a BB, what CR2 batteries should I order?

Hehe, I've scoured the Internets trying to find them believe me :)

Same here and I did find one from some freaking small tiny village deep in the middle of NOWHERE China rated at 1000mah which is probably totally inacurate or mislabeled typo. South Summit seems to be the only option but they really look like a home made experiment IMO. Total crap charger too.

If you use UNPROTECTED batteries they are USE AT YOUR OWN RISK, Ever seen a battery explode? o_O

I HAVE! And Rob is right. I wont mention what mod I was using. But I had one blow up while using it. Actually it didn't blow up, it just turned into a roman candle in my hands! Had a 6 inch jet flame coming out of the switch, extreme heat, horrid smell and burnt thumbs. If it had been in my pocket when it "blew" most likely would have been a trip to the E.R. All i can say now is two burnt thumbs up to Robs advice!

First of all great avatar  Rottweilers are my favorite breed and dont deserve the bad rep they have at all.Today is my dog Bruno(My avatar) 5th b-day. He weighs in at 135lbs and he really is the most awesome, intelligent, loyal, lovable yet still protective dog I ever owned. That is your dog right?

Back to the topic - I have also seen the videos. They DEFINITELY let you know how volatile they can possibly be but for that to happen is a rare occurence for the most part which you unfortuneately experienced 1st hand.Glad you didnt get hurt and Im sure if it happened to me I would never use them in my PV anymore as well.

As it stands now however I'm willing to take the risk in using them until a protected or even better LifePo4 CR2 with longer battery life becomes available and will definitely switch ASAP from when that time comes.

I have learned how to charge and use unprotected Cr2 safely and properly so my chance of something happening like that is much less than someone that is careless or even ignorant of the fact that there is a safety issue with them. The link on the Alt Smoke site for the Battery University or whatever its called is something everone using these types of lithium rechargable batteries should read.

Now I'll go knock on wood now:p

1st, yes thats my oldest rottie, she is 9 years old and tips the scale at 155 pounds. She is truly a gentle giant, loves everyone and everything. also have a 1 year old rottie who right now is a huge PITA, but also gentle and friendly as can be, then a border collie mix who is 11 years.

2nd, if you're going to use cr2 in the BB do not screw the sleeve all the way down, I think this may push the top cap innards up into the cap causing a short, then spectacular fire works. just an FYI, the 2 cr2 bats are a little longer then the 14500 batt.

The BB is made to use CR2s.....

Where it would short at is a bad atomizer only. Which can, and does happen from time to time.

Well sorta, when you insert 2 cr2 bats the sleeve will not screw all the way down, that was done intentionally by Altsmoke as an indicator that they do not endorse the use of cr2 bats. If you force it down all the way you can shove the top piece in to far causing a short. That is one reason they say not to use cr2 unprotected bats. Maybe Rob or Chad could clearify?

Wow 155 is a monster Rott especially for a female. Im a big dog lover too and I also have 2 Basset Hounds boy and girl that are about 11 and 2 male pugs one is 11 and the other is 8 months. The puppy is probably the cutest wrinkliest squishy skinned pug I have ever seen and is my Rottweiler Brunos best friend. If someone were to see how they play that didnt know them they'd probably have a heart attack cause of how brutal it looks but he has never hurt him ever and is actually very gentle. LOL.Looks can be deceiving especially when you see a big dog like him swinging the little guy around from his mouth.

Thanks for the tip on the BB but I use a SB with LifePo4's for dual battery vaping.I use the cr2's in another mod.

We must have different BBs. Mine takes two unprotected green cr2s from dealextreme (probably 500mah) with no problem. Been using it for months with no issues.

Just wish I could find some High Voltage 510 attys from a US supplier. Nhaler is out of stock and that's the only one I've heard of.

A great guy to deal with is Isaac at www.ikenvape.com he carries them as well but just sold out last week. I just got a couple of the HV 901s but havent compared the 2 back and forth yet but I did try it out for a few hits and it was very good.

Thanks Derek. I saw his store mentioned but he's closed until the 17th anyway. These things must be hot commodities. I just went ahead and ordered some from East Mall. Hope they don't take forever.

I added some liquid to the order just to help make shipping worthwhile, then realized after the fact that may not have been too good a move considering possible customs issues. Hopefully it won't be a problem.

anyone else have problems screwing cap down with cr2s?

On the BB..some cr2s work..and others wont. The cap wont screw all the way down...wierd.

The manufacturer designed it that way because he doesn't want CR2s used in the BB ... it is an entirely "use at your own risk" situation so that gap is there as a reminder that you are doing something that isn't recommended and for which the BB was not designed ... the reason some close and some don't is because some CR2s are slightly shorter than others.

(not being snarky by the way ... I have a BB and have used CR2s with it many times until recently)

I'm pretty sure 2 cr2s are the same length as 14500s. I did find protected cr2's btw, only nine pairs left, but they're from another e-juice/mod link so I wont post the link here. Unlike the other cr2s I've used (Each of which has fit perfectly well btw in my BB & allows it to shut all the way) these ones really are protected & have the PCB adding 1.5mm to the length. I only just ordered them for myself last night so I'll let ya know when they get here if I encounter the 'not being able to screw my BB shut all the way' issue many of you have reported occurring with regular cr2s.

Two green unprotected ultrafire cr2s from dealextreme are 3/16" longer than a single unprotected Tenergy 14500. They fit the BB very comfortably - not tight either in length or circumference.

Having just read through a thread here (ECF) and one on Totally Wicked where CR2 batteries exploded, I will never use CR2 batteries in tandom. The users were fortunate to be using high quality pvs. One was using a GGGrant, the other was using a BB. There is a reason the AltSmoke site does NOT recommend using these batteries in tandom or any unprotected batteries.
