This is most likely the bracket yours has.

The problem is usually with the box having misprint issues. I have built 16 dna200 and about 15 sx350 so far. Some came with the screen holder above, which that piece clips to the board and then sits flat in the window. All of the black ones I have received come with a different screen bracket that is not like the ones pictured above.

*snip*

Thanks for the lengthy and detailed response -

I drove into town and sent it back tonight - I ~hope~ the screen is not broken, it did not appear to be but I didn't power it up.

I also asked them to check the up/down buttons as they seem strangely without any give to me.

If it comes back untested or if it comes back and still off-center and/or receded into the body, I'm going to be severely non-plussed. It IS expensive.

Sadly until today I only heard of one other problem and now three different people are reporting multiple problems. I *REALLY* want a second Boxer too (hot spare, office setup) ..

Here is hoping .. -Mags

You should be fine. If you buy pre built they have a 30 day I believe. If for some reason they don't offer you that I would contact evolv and they will take care of you if you explain the situation. I think it totally sucks that you can't buy the enclosure from shapeways by itself anymore. They were really nice back then. But that's what helps me find new stuff to build. Being slapped in the face always makes me find something better!!! :pervy:

what other problems are you talking about @MagnusEunson? and are the problems with the DIY kit?

One person PMed me and they had a prebuilt, like mine, with the same issues as mine (that I sent back today). And there are the posts immediately above from Droopy and then a few others through the thread. It's not an epidemic but at this price point it's disappointing. -Mags

I presume yours has been rock solid so far? Any pointers?

I really do want a second if it works out - always a spare between home and office too. -Mags

yea mine has been great so far, no problems, still trying to get used to escribe and fiddle with all the ss and ni200, @MagnusEunson, currently running the triton with the .15 ni200 coil and have it set at 70w preheat and 560F and 60w power but the vape isn't warm enough for me any suggestions?

I've ~never~ had a good warm vape from Ni or Ti - ever. At the temperatures I'd think I'd get one, it's either potentially dangerous or it never gets there. If you want to try though, I'd say set the preheat a bit higher to give it an initial kick. 100W.

For nicquids I like the warm vape, I throw a kanthal dual on at 0.15 - 0.17 .. it's warm at 80W - 110W and excellent for me. -Mags

I'm the wrong guy to ask - I've never heard of anyone doing a ni200 build above 550f and I've only heard of prebuilts going to 600f (and that was a TFV4 dual ni200). Sorry man, -Mags

I have a couple of clarifications from Ginger - to update earlier posts:
  • The warranty on built devices is SIX MONTHS .. that's more than average box mod life now'a'days. ;-)
  • The brackets in use on the DNA133 are the ones like what @dannyben posts here ..
Everything else about the build was great, looking forward to getting it back. Flush fit, solid magnets, good firm body (alumylon in my case), ..

Ginger handled the return and communication clearly. I should have it back in a few days hopefully and will report back on function, etc. -Mags

I built my boxer dna 133w last week went together great!
i didn't think it was difficult at all , the soldering was easy to do with a good hot iron and quality solder
working out how to plug the screen into the chip was the only step that kept me from finishing the build within the hour.
A quick tip for devices that aren't reading the coil correctly ,sand or roughen up the 510 pin to get a better contact.
Im rocking my boxer at 85w preheat 260 degrees celsius at 75w on a crown tank with .15 coils and am getting a really
smooth satisfying vape with The Muffin Man.
And if anyone is hesitating pulling the trigger on one of these bad boys don't!
I started vaping 6 weeks ago and bought a Sigelie 150w tc then a x cube 2 after that a Sx mini M class then a Snow Wolf Le v1.5
IMO the Boxer DNA133w wins hands down and is a pleasure to vape with.
just my two cents..

Never had a problem with my Boxer mods, other than mistakes I made with the DIY version. The Boxer is not an easy build, but people often think their DIY skills are better than they actually are. Myself included. ;)
It is probably the easiest build I have ever made. Only 4 solders!! If the print is good I can knock out 10 in under 3 hours. A 120w Raptor Dc-Dc converter box mod is what I would consider a hard build! A mofet box is even harder.

Ginger received my defective unit today - repaired it today - and printed shipping for it today. w00t!

The end result was a warped DNA200 screen - which they replaced.

They threw in a bit for the inconvenience and took care of other misc. needed.

And they continued communicating all along the way - excellent. I'll report back on functionality and such as soon as it's back with me and I'm escribed up. -Mags

The DNA200 has 12 solders! 6 of which Ginger pre-does for you. The DNA133 has 18 solders, 4 of which they pre do for you. Besides the extra parts, probably why there is a price difference.

Yes, if one has routine soldering experience, it's not the hardest build, but lots of people think soldering is easy to pick up. It's sort of like the illusion of DIY home construction. People think doing something is really easy because they watched a video. Then they actually do it and realize there is a certain skill from repeated experience required to do it right.
