I received mine yesterday (Pre-Assembled) and I'm not very impressed at all. Definitely doesn't look or feel like a $250 box. It arrived very dirty and it looks like whoever was building it wrote on it with a marker and I can't get it off. The 510 was installed crooked,it's very sharp and already scratching up my tanks and some tanks don't even work. My Squape R has never given me any issues but when I throw it on the Boxer my 1.3 ohm coil reads anywhere from no atomizer all the way up to 6 ohm. It changes every single time I refresh the coil reading. Does anyone know what 510 they used? I would absolutely love to get it switched out for something more reliable but I doubt Ginger would be able to help with that. I'm betting if I contact them with my issues they'll just replace it with the same crappy 510 that's already installed if anything at all.

Anyone else having similar issues with the jumpy ohm's on their Boxers?

Use your warranty, that sounds awful. The solder job I did on my 510 ended up breaking it but the resistance readings were correct.

Someone mentioned a damp cloth will clean it up.
That was me, worked like a charm on the white box.
The 510 is pretty cheap.
They are Fat Daddy Vapes low profile V4 22mm. Cost about $4 a piece.
Did you remove more insulation off the white wire before soldering it into the 510 pin?
I also did not.

Last night, I tried a few other atomizers and I noticed some weird readings. 2 other atomizers (KF4's) with .12Ω builds were showing up at .26Ω. Reseating them fixed it but that doesn't inspire confidence in the 510.

Thats why. The white wire coming from the yihi chip only has a short amount of wire exposed. You need the wire to reach to the tip of the 510 (this version or any other) and then a short amount exposed to solder. Re-do the connection and you'll be fine.

I meant "cheap" and in inferior design/material. The VT 510 is $4.25 and way better, IMO.

No you don't. The 510 pin is all brass. As long as the wire is soldered to the pin, you have connectivity.

I also wanna add I assembled my box without a soldering iron... I used my torch that I used to use for torching kanthal and just heated the solder over the wire also heating the attachment spots at the same time ... Firm connection everywhere... Working perfectly...

Since none of the soldering is to the actual board I figured it couldn't hurt.. I own a soldering iron but this way is much much faster than soldering

I also found the magnets the easiest part... Put superglue on a toothpick and coat the hole... Slide magnet stack in, then Slide sideways to disconnect the magnet from the stack... then move to the next hole and do the same... Did it all with my fingertips and I don't have small hands at all orientation is easy to remember because all the magnets stay in the same stack

I took off 2-3mm of insulation so enough wire is in the 510 tip along with just a bit exposed in order to solder it. Then it's covered with the heat shrink wrap. I also swapped the included FDV 510 for a FDV V4 black cap to give it a raised 510 base similar to the SXmini. Since I run a Subtank Plus 99% of the time, I didn't want the overhang rubbing on the mod.

Every mod I've had that used a FDV V3 had a better pin than the V4 that came with the boxer. @KTMRider if I decide to swap mine for a VT, how do you suggest getting the FDV in there out?
It shouldn't be that hard to take it out. Just a nut holding it in. You don't have to take the board out.

It's definitely a lighter grey then I had imagined, but not horrible disappointed. Curious as to the material, se light and brittle. Anyone have any idea if this was expected? Also anyone drop this thing yet?
It almost feels that in six months my hand will wear through it.

The adjustment button also feels stiff to the point in not sure it moves........

Did you buy the kit? I was worried before I put it together but the buttons are actually pretty good with the board in place.

I found a pic of my 510.

Looks good... even with the battery door upside down :p

Blue one on the way. My samsungs will match;)
I have Samsung 25r's coming too :thumb:

Yep its the kit. I keep picking up and putting down the empty case. I'm going to sleep on it.
The buttons are the best part of the mod . Easy to hold both buttons for resistance setting unlike the SXM and the fire button is very comfortable to use.

Are there 2 versions of the Boxer mod? Mine does not have magnet holes on the mid plate. It has notches on either side that hold it.

.

Yeah that's another one of my complaints... It would have taken two seconds to make sure that battery door design is ambiguous
