Fair enough Tony I am somewhat like you, more frustration than anything! ;) Glad I wasn't walking in the street when you snapped with a CNC;). Some modding looks so simple but in reality metal work was never something I did so some of the results have been poor.

I worked in electronics for a few years but hardware and powder coating I never did.

You are right there about how a box looks on the outside maybe its in my character wanting what's inside to be as good but most of the time its not practical.

I actually asked the mini modder above if he would do a box for me he told me he did it in his lunch time when the workshop allowed him to use the equipment;)

The UK has very little manufacturing now so finding someone with a good enough CNC equipment is tough if not impossible and can cost somewhat.

He's the mod in the previous post I replaced the switch and 510 it does look pretty good for a hammond1590 case.

That 1590A looks great! Is it an actual peened finish?

Like a lot of people all ready stated. I mock the chip up in place cut all my wires to length, remove the chip solder all the wires to the chip outside of the enclosure.
then install my chip and solder the battery, charger 510 and tactile switches in the box. This is what works for me but any way that gets it done for you is Great:)

That works. I'm making a dual battery dna 40 mod in a really tight case. Unfortunately most everything has to be soldered prior to assembly. The only exception is going great to be the switches to board connection. Going to have to go to the switch first then glue the switches in place and slide the larger board/battery assembly into the case. Once it's in place then solder the switch wires to the board. Was almost done with it when I discovered the DNA40 was defective and I had to tear it all apart.

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

This is the case I am using:

This is the battery pack that has to go into it:

What it looks like partially through assembly and to give a little scale:

And the walnut top cap that holds a Fat Daddy Vapes 510:

Of course I have to start over from the beginning because the board was bad so expect new pic along with a write up later.

The box looks good I don't know why so many are not calling for evolv's blood so many faulty boards and we over 4 months since there lauch. It has got so bad (6 DNA 40s so far) I tracked down a test board I am going to use as they do in manufacturing with gold contacts to test the boards without soldering before I build.

Something tells me both the HANA and Vaporflask clones with TP I am have will be more reliable than evolv's tragic!

Wow, that's a slim box no doubt. Could be shorter though... :D :D

Sticks up around 1/2 inch when I hold it in my fist.

Where in earth did you come up with something like that?!?

I wouldn't be surprised and I'm a genuine dna 40 owner....

One of the reasons I am not working on it is I am waiting on YiHi to release the SX350 Series J with temp control. I have a mod using the regular SX350 and I love it. Easy to build with and absolutely no problems at all.

I know how it is I have very little time myself and the DNA 40 has been the worst so far demotivating to build a mod then break it a part because there's another bad board.

I have no idea why I am pursuing the temp stuff, it will be almost a year since I got my 1st then 30W SX350 board I never really had a SX350 mod I liked (I had 5 at one point) until I modded a Hotcig SX Zero, it was poorly supported in UK so few SX350 mods and millions of DNA30s ;)

I really like the SX350 always did it is much better board and its almost a year old.

I may try and a 350J board dependant on size and retro fit a SX mini I cooked one in 2 days after getting a brand new SX mini and then had to track down a board to fix it. It will all be old news when the 250W YiHi temp board comes out but I don't high power vape it doesn't interest me much.

Vaping is an addiction!:)

That God mod looks beautiful... A bit high for my taste but beautiful. [emoji14]

Why didn't the designer moved the 510 connector to the electronic side and save 10mm height?

The battery locking / connection screw is ingenious but then he wasted the gained space placing the 510 connector right above the battery :/

Is that the real deal or the Fasttech clone? The FT has real SX350 in it too.

If you want small ;) just mod a Cloupor mini with a DNA 40 ;) the new Vaporshark DNA 40 not rDNA takes a 18650 which is soldered in and has a SS 510 smaller than a CM but I really don't like Vaporshark boxes been burned to many times!

The space planning on those mods are crazy after almost a year with box mods I now want pretty ones hahaha

The SX Zero clone I love just wasn't prepared to pay $1000 to Carlos creations for a real one ;)

The cloupor mini has two problems for me
1. The pressed air slots on top of the case... It looks horrid with a real 510 connector on it (fd, varitube, OCD)

2. It's too thin ie a 22mm will overhang a bit. I hated that on the original Vaporshark 30 and don't like to see it on the cloupor mini.

It would be the perfect case to mod though, I agree :)

I'm with you. $1000 for a mod is just plain stupid. I'm going to order one from FT after they come back from Chinese New Year. Think they start shopping again on the 26th.
