On top of everything else about the FDA regulations, it bums me that, at least for a while, there will be a lot less innovation in new products. Considering how far and fast vaping tech has come in the last few years, it's a shame that that momentum is going to be lost. Especially regards to tanks, which still have a lot of room for improvement, imo.

If you think it's bad now, just wait until december 31st when companies need to have their applications submitted to the FDA by... US eliquid manufacturers need to get on this now if they want their products on the market after... Even if they don't plan on spending the 1,000,000$ PTMA cost the FDA can remove them from the market after that...

It's time now to go make picket signs and rally out front the FDA, get media attention, stick to a few key things that will not impact them but will improve public perception, the lobbyists for pharma/bt are winning over the public right now, manufacturers and vendors have gags forced onto them, the only people that can spread the truth is people not involved with the industry... If you can win public perception you can create public outcry which in the end will hopefully result in fairer laws... But right now... The public thinks vaping is pretty much as bad as smoking and think these laws are needed and fair....

The only thing required by December 31st, 2016, is to register and provide a list of all your products. Manufacturers then have until 2018 to file their PMTAs.

You wanna fight the FDA?

Don't do it on solely on vaping grounds. The public support is for them and the opposition (us) too weak. The issue is too complex for memes...so nobody is paying attention. The public is full of ignorance, so the FDA can act with virtual impunity.

The vast majority of manufacturers and vendors have had gags since 2012, but the gags are the self-imposed kind. Now, they will be even more useless.

If you wanna fight, then dig into the FDA's food practices, their capricious rulings on alternative medicines, and their obvious cronyism with regard to BT&BP with their processes. IF there was major media capable/willing of investigative journalism left in the US, it would be simpler. As it stands, bloggers and other "small media" will have to float stories and hope they gain traction.

Turning an insider of the FDA to shed light, share docs, etc. would be our best bet....but we've seen how whistleblowers get treated in the US, so don't hold your breath for this one.

Without a sockdolager of some sort to shake things up, innovation will suffer horribly. It already has.

The good news is, we got some great products in the Golden Age.

Enjoy them while you are still permitted to.

Had to look it up myself. @EddardinWinter, you still continue to impress :D
And it seems I've hijacked the thread with a $15 word.

However, the risk of sounding pretentious was outweighed by the exactness of conveying what was needed with some relish.

It's a great word. I do love the English language.

There will be innovation still, just not available in the US...Unless we get some changes made.
As a Canadian I've been in touch with the FDA regarding sending gear to the US as a consumer, at first they sent me a canned response not really saying anything, then they said they didn't know enough to answer me and would get back to me by email... Yet.... No answer for 10 days... First answer took 2 days...

Welcome to the club. The FDA hasn't answered one question asked of them about the regulations. I don't think they even know the answers. They always say they will get back to us, then never do.

Must be nice to make regulations that they do not understand themselves.... :grr:

"we have to pass this bill so we can find out whats in it" With the FDA, it's "we have to regulate so we can find out what we can do". This is your Government at work. And the minions eat it up.

I suggest that those of you who do not yet, to start looking for Youtube reviews of products by persons living outside the US. One that I highly recommend is DJLsb.

Products are going to keep coming out and while you may not need anything today, you might want it at some point in the future. As sure as I am typing this right now, there will be a black market. No question. It is possible that devices will be more expensive, but if you want it badly enough...

And there is a language barrier, but he's pretty complete when it comes to anything with electronics in it. I monitor abt 7 accts on Youtube, and yet I can think of nobody who even comes close to the electronics tests he runs.
