For real, that was verified? Last I remember, we weren't sure which one was the newest.

I'm bummed. The horizontal worked far better for me in terms of not burning. I've managed to burn every vertical. On the bright side, they hold a lot of juice.

neo, you and me both liked the horizontal design better but don't you remember i posted the trueman email were they claimed vertical is best and newest design? still not so sure about that though:unsure:

Don't know anything about the 4081s. But in the world of 510s, as far as I know there are two types of cartos (other than the exotic kinds such as E2s & ego megas).
Vertical which is a boge carto & horizontal which is SLB.
Now when they say that the verticals are the new design, do they mean that they have made new boge style cartos with a different design or they just switched from SLB to boge?
I highly doubt if they have made any changes in the design of the boge cartos other than the resistance.

ClumsyGirl sent me this 510 carto purchased from Truemans. It appears that Vapors Etc is now carrying these so we have a US supplier.

They test around 2.4 ohms and I used this carto heavily for 8+ days. I have NEVER used a carto that long without something going bad. The thing that went bad in this one was the juice at the very bottom got old and soured. If it wasn't for that I'd still be using it. It was used primarily on a Lazer mod, but the last day I did have it on the Chameleon for a bit.

First pic... I had already cut the tube off when I decided to take this shot, but this is what it looks like when looking in the top. I did wash this after I took the tube off and before I took pics as it was nasty with old juice and ya'll didn't really need pics of that :)

There is no visible wire up through the center when you look into it. As reason would have it, that would mean it has a horizontal coil like the SLB cartos

Must to my surprise when I unwrapped it, it has a vertical wire!!!!!! The filler is thick and pulled up over the wire so you can not see it when you look down into it.

Next pics are it opened all the way up and the wire assembly close up.

Yes there is a burn mark, but after 8 days of heavy use from me, that's dang good!! I'm betting the burn came at the very end when I had it on the Chamy. I never tasted it or could tell it was burned at all and I can usually tell that very quickly. I have an allergic reaction when the filler in cartos burn. I actually get sores on the roof of my mouth from it so I can always tell a burnt carto quickly. I never had any reaction to this one and no signs it was burnt at all so I'm pretty sure it happened right at the end. And or the filler is different somehow.

Summery... I love this carto. The juice wicked fast, it never clogged up on me, the draw was great, vapor fantastic and my juices tasted wonderfully. With the lower ohms I'm surprised it did not burn up quickly, but it did not, so this carto is now at the top of my favorite list :)

Happy Vaping!!!

I guess senility has finally set in. The last I remember we weren't sure.

I guess senility has finally set in. The last I remember...just kidding.:p

we both might have some senile moments but up to this date i'm still not convinced they were honest about the 2 different styles:facepalm:

For the novice user this happens quite a bit. I remember when I first started, I thought to myself, these things last for days, then I relized that I was burning the cartridges. The best way to stop this from happening is to prevent the cartridge from running dry by adding more liquid. I have had a cartridge last for 3 weeks by maintaining it.

Neo, the 4081s you're burning, are they from the co-op? Or are they the new blanks from GP, the 2.5Ω ones?

From the Trueman coop. The black vertical ones. Other than the filler being fluffier, these don't seem to be much of a different design.

I just got the GP blanks an hour ago. I've been vaping it off a 901 bat with adapter. It's staying a nice medium temperature this way. I'm not sure what voltage 901's put out but it seems to be low enough to keep it cooler. Nice draw and lots of fog.

I put it on an 808 for a few drags and it got noticeably warmer.

By now, a generic Kanger 808 carto would have been clogged up and not producing as well for me. So, so far I've found them certainly better than those.

Not scientific I know but hey, I know the difference between warm and hot! :p

Fog is good.;)

I'm still waiting for Rob to get those 2.5Ω 510s back in stock. Anybody tried them yet? I wonder if they are anything like the Tru 510s from Vapors Etc.

Welcome back!!! I have hardly been here myself and am way behind, but this is where I am, if that helps at all :)

I'm on the fence about the E2s. I have not had any burning and I think people are confusing real burning with the harsh hit you get when the wick and coil dry out. I have dry burned these and there is no actual burning happening. The do give a nasty hit when they get dry though, which is even worse at 3.7 volts. Thinner juices wick faster and if you turn them upside down for a couple seconds between hits they function much better. At 3.7 volts they are too harsh for me, but fair better on my Lazers. On the WetBox since you can keep them extra wet they are wonderful, almost like dripping. All in all they still need work, but have potential. Personally I'm waiting a while before spending any more money on them. In a month or two if they sound like they have improved, I'll try them again.

Side note to the House Fans... I don't watch TV very often, I watch movies, but not TV, so I've never seen the show, but I have added the first season to my NetFlix and should have them next week so I can understand all the signature lines :p

Happy Vaping!!!

I've fired up one E2 you sent and it's working fine - burns off something at first and then after that seems ok with a strong flavor. I prefer the lower ohm'd cartoz/attys on the eGo though. I've yet to try it on the wetbox. I'll do that next. Your white SLB's are working well on it! I'll have to try trueman....

House - USA, Bravo and Sleuth channels run 'marathons' every few days it seems. But that first season would be worth having on a DVD for the sequence. The marathons are all over the place chronologically.

---
Rebecca: Am I ever gonna meet Dr. House?
Dr. Wilson: Well, you might run into him at the movies or on the bus.
Rebecca: Is he a good man?
Dr. Wilson: He's a good doctor.
Rebecca: Can you be one without the other? Don't you have to care about people?
Dr. Wilson: Caring is a good motivator. He's found something else.

Tib, I've learned some time ago that when a carto smells burnt or tastes burnt--it is burnt. It doesn't have to be the filler. I fried a bad Truman the other day (and shorted my Riva in the process), so of course I opened it up only to find the batting completely intact, snow-white, as a matter of fact. I had similar experience with an eGo, a SS 4081, and most recently with a CE2. Intact filler, burnt wick. And it's almost impossible to see if the burnt part of the wick is hidden inside the coil wire.
