Burning Cartomisers? Dangerous?-510/Kr808/4081...etc filler type cartos

All of my cartos taste burnt after the first fill. I just use them till they quit making vapor xD

On another note...
With all this noise about 510 carto's... I am beginning to wonder if the 808d-1 is going out of style. I'd have no problem switching over to 510 cartos, if they're better, but I LOVE my auto batteries, and any auto 510 I ever tried just doesnt cut the mustard. I also don't like using adapters. I like cartomizers for the convenience of a 2 piece design... adding another piece just doesnt compute...
Regardless... I'm gonna have to get some ove these Tru Cartos from VaporsEtc. I have a few manual 510s that will get me acquainted. But are there any good auto batteries for the 510, ie: RIVA/EGO/etc... something comparable to an 808d-1... or better

!I figure on a slightly lower voltage device like the 510 or ego, i might be ok... no? I did an ohms law calculator thing, and the numbers came out pretty darn close (if i even did it right).
And Heck, Even If I do burn em up, they are cheaper than any decent 808D-1 i can find. at 3+ a day, those cartos arent cheap!!!
anyway, talk to me about an AUTO 510... What up with the RIVA? i had an ego, but it was manual...
Ran another ml through and was still running great. But curiosity killed the cat so I killed the carto. Not a burn or scorch mark to be found. Some very slight flaky char stuff only.
Hi, Warbdan, and welcome! Why would they taste burnt after your first refill? Do you add enough liquid? Do you allow enough time for the liquid to saturate the filler? Do you use prefilled cartos or blanks? What type of cartos are you using and on what device? Good cartos should work through 4-6 refills without any problems.
Let us know more and maybe we'll be able to help you better.

EGo/Riva batteries are really nice. I'm a convert. Even considering my initial problems with malfunctioning batteries (or charger), I love my Rivas to pieces. Scott complains about their effective voltage being too low-3.1v as opposed to 3.7+v of kr8 batteries, but the Rivas are much more fun. I had to go back to my kr8s while my Rivas were being replaced and I was surprised at how weak they felt.
First of all, you can get an auto eGo, that's not a problem. Cignot carries them, and probably Janty. You don't have to buy a kit, I never do. All you need is a couple batteries and a fast eGo charger (5v, 420 mAh). You don't even need a fast charger, you can use standard 510 charger with your eGo, but it's going to take you hours (you mustn't use the fast charger on the stock 510 batteries, though). Get one auto and one manual. The eGos are 650 mAh and last for hours. Rivas are 750 mAh, and you can also get a 900 mAh XL eGo. If I remember correctly, Kent has one and likes it. WitchWay just got a USB eGo battery from Janty that plugs to a charger and can be vaped while charging. She likes it a lot. WordupEcig offers free shipping. Good Prophets ships for free over $30, Cignot over $50 or so. Shop around.
What's the voltage on that 901 battery? Does anyone know? Neo, why aren't you using them on your 4081 battery?

Yeah, I try not to exceed 4-6 mls, depending on the cartomizer and how well it's performing overall. And the eliquids I'm using. I'm phasing out all dark, very sweet and aggressively flavored juices. The cleaner the better.

I don't know the voltage...I had posted that earlier. But it was clearly less than the 808 bat. I put the 808 on and the carto was hot after two drags. Hot as in
I thought they were supposed to be 3.7 but I dunno. The bats I used were new and SLB's. (Used 4 different ones and they were all the same in terms of coolness). So it's not like they were on their way out.
So I was pretty happy running it on the 901.

Neo, the SS Hendu is 3.6v, on paper at least, so those cartos may be too hot for the 4081 batteries. I was afraid of that.

Tasty Vapor has the egos at $15 & the 900 mAh at $18. Can't beat those prices anywhere. they are manual though. the 2.4 cartos taste great on the ego or even a 510.I'm Flattered... I never knew I had a secret nickname

If I could test them, I would. But I don't really have a purpose for a MM other than this. Not scientific I know, but I can tell the difference between warm and hot and that's good enough for me!
Has anyone heard of a 801 carto? Supposed to be getting one soon, and had never heard of them. I'm very anxious to see this thing, I imagine it will hold a ton of juice.

Oh cool, let us know what you think of them. I skipped over them as they are not as big around as a 801 atty and just slightly longer than a regular carto, suppose to hold 1.2mil of juice. I was hoping they would hold more juice. Please keep us updated!!!

That's my 'problem' with the idea - cartos are supposed to be for holding more ejuice - the 801 (before mega eGo cartos/attys/carts) were 'huge' - no need for a cartomizer, except that perhaps because (without a straw mod, imo) the 801 doesn't always wick well and can get a bit raunchy if all you're doing is topping off. I used the needle tipped bottle to 'bottom fill' it to avoid the raunch ;-)

I have tried most of these and the Trueman' are my favorite followed by the SLB's from Litecig. Most everything else burns after the refilling once. Also, to me the Boge's have a "chalk-y" taste. Also, I ordered some 1.7Ω LR 510 Cartos from ElectroNicStix and I can verify they are the WORST Cartos I have ever experienced. They all burned up on about the 4 or 5th drag off a HELLO 016.

The surprise--they are rated and test higher than they were supposed to: IkenVape's cartos rate at 2.9Ω, as opposed to the anticipated 2.6Ω; GP cartos rate and test at 3.0 ohms (they were previously listed as 2.5Ω cartos.) This may not make a big difference for HV usage, but for those of us who were hoping to find another option for the eGo/Riva/Tornado series, the higher resistance is not necessarily good news. I really like the 2.3-2.6Ω range cartos for my Riva.
I'll try them and report. Although I have a feeling that my BFF WitchWay already beat me to it and will have a report before I even get my cartos.

I got the new SLBs yesterday. I tested 5 out of the 20 I received and they tested between 2.6 -2.8 ohms. The majority, 3 of them tested 2.7 ohms. While a bit stronger than the other SLBs, I can not notice a tremendous difference in them. They are nicer on the Ego than the other SLBs, but still not as good as the Tru-Vapor cartos on the Ego.
I am running 2 of them at the moment, 1 on the Ego and 1 on the Chameleon and I haven't burned either yet
Only time will tell if they hold up as well as the originals.FWIW, my preferences at the moment are
Ego with a Tru-Vapor carto
Chameleon with either of the SLBs
The Buzz with either of the SLBs
The WetBox with an E2
