Burning Cartomisers? Dangerous?-510/Kr808/4081...etc filler type cartos

I've gone through about 3 cartos a day lately. Though, they are the original KR808d-1 style. But even my Turbos have been hit or miss these days.

I don't bother to rip them open to verify they're burnt. If it tastes bad, it is bad, period

Tib, I've learned some time ago that when a carto smells burnt or tastes burnt--it is burnt. It doesn't have to be the filler. I fried a bad Truman the other day (and shorted my Riva in the process), so of course I opened it up only to find the batting completely intact, snow-white, as a matter of fact. I had similar experience with an eGo, a SS 4081, and most recently with a CE2. Intact filler, burnt wick. And it's almost impossible to see if the burnt part of the wick is hidden inside the coil wire.

Whats the story with the VX2 510's at aqua vapor? And there are only a couple of vendors selling 510's? I see maybe three on the list minus aqua vapor.

The list will be updated, we've been busy.

For now, this is what I know:

510 cartos from AV are just overpriced SLBs (I've got this on good authority ); if you like SLBs you can get them from IkenVape, LiteCig (free shipping over $15), VaporKings.

Boge: LiteCig, Clouds of Vapor, Vaporkings.

My favorite 510 cartos are from Vapors Etc. (Tru-Vapor, 2.5Ω). Good Prophets also carries 2.5Ω 510 cartos but they are temporarily out of stock. I'm waiting to try them. IkenVape will introduce 2.6Ω SLB cartos in a couple of weeks.

The 2.5Ω cartos (Vapors Etc.) shine on eGo/Tornado/Riva batteries because of their slightly lower resistance compared to SLB and Boge (3.0Ω). But if you're using 3.7-4.5v devices, SLB and Boge are the ticket.

Nhaler sells HR 510 mega cartomizers (3.4Ω).

There are more and more vendors carrying 510s, but I haven't been able to try them all and/or find out who manufactures them. Some vendors are reluctant to disclose that information. Just check the suppliers subfora and you'll find them.

Nhaler sells HR 510 mega cartomizers (3.4Ω).

I got 2 packs of these to try 2 or 3 weeks ago. I like them a lot.

7 of them measured 3.1 ohms
3 of them measured 2.9 ohms
A bit more than half had filler and that wire that holds the coil up to 5 mm from the top of the cart.
The rest of them had filler and that wire only up to about 10 mm from the top.
They all performed the same but naturally the "fuller" ones had more capacity. There was variation within each box.

Great draw on all of them. The "fuller" ones just seemed noticeably better overall. As long as they're 3.0 ohms or more I'm good. Less than 3.0 ohms they trip the battery on my other PV. I do all my vaping at 6+ volts with some pg/vg mix and mostly all vg. All "heavy" flavors like DK-Tab, DK-Caramel, and 555. Didn't see anything burnt at all but I only tore the stuffing out of 2 of them after they compacted too much and got sort of yucky (I generally don't worry about burnt unless it ruins the flavor).

I've got 5 more packs that should be here in the next day or two. I'll let you know if they're more consistent on the innards and ohms.

My one juice clogs the wicks after several days, but I haven't tried cleaning any yet, way too lazy for that and since I bought a ton of them, I just toss them. The E2s on the WetBox are the ultimate to me!! I do refill them twice a day just to make sure, then just a little squeeze every few puffs and it's magic

You mean the tan Tru-Vapor 510s? Why not? I happen to like those When I originally purchased from Vapors Etc. I got the tan speckled ones and the purple ones.

No idea if I like them. I took maybe three tiny teeny 2-sec puffs on my almost completely discharged kr8 batteries.

My poor Rivas are in transit; I had really bad luck either with the batteries or with the charger. One gave up the ghost on Friday night, the other one was so weak that it was practically useless. But my replacements should be here soon.

I find that those with less filler actually perform better. I like that extra air space between the filler and the mouthpiece. That's why I often use drip tips with overfilled cartos. I think it improves the airflow through the carto.

I'm glad you like them. What worries me is that they measure as low as 2.9Ω, that's not good for HV vaping. Drew wanted them to be 3.4Ω. I would let him know. It may be another QC issue and he should know about it. He's a good man.

I'm glad you let us know about the tan cartos. I had a bad box, clearly. Happens. They wouldn't cooperate. But if they worked for you then all is good. More QC problems. Come to think of it, maybe it had something to do with my bad Rivas. Hmmm, that's a thought. It wasn't my week, clearly.

Clouds of Vapor and VaporJunction both offer the 510 E2s. Would wait for the next installment before ordering the E2s though. Well unless you have a WetBox and they are great on it as is.

I love and highly recommend the Tru-Vapor cartos too. I just had a few bad ones from one (tan) box, but I was also having problems with my Rivas at the time, so I retracted my warnings and edited my previous post.

Both the white SLB's you sent and the E2 are better on the Wetbox than the nhaler "megas" 3.4Ω... And the E2 is giving the best vapor and still holding flavor.

I'll take full responsibility for your addiction... (in a politician's voice - think Janet Reno on Waco ;-)

E2 cartos

One has a burnt/chemical taste I'm still trying to get rid off.

The 2nd one i've been using since Saturday pretty heavily. No burning at all still great taste and performance with no cleaning done yet. I'm using a mix of about 50pg/ 50vg juice. Pretty impressive so far. The juice flavor seems better with this than other cartos.

I'm using the Ego with this btw.

Oops, forgot to mention that I ONLY use drip tips (and I actually drip through them when using atomizers). That made the Turbo cartos I tried from vapornine sort of a non-starter since my drip tips won't fit in their slightly smaller barrels.

For me, it would be better . It's just that they won't work on my BB that I prefer to use at the office . I did mention that in an email and in the comments on my last order.

It may just be me. But it seems to me that the best flavor and vape I have had to date is using the LR Carto with the voltage turned way down.

IMHO even better than the E2's. I ran out of my regular carto's trying out the E2's and have had to begin using up a supply of LR's. Just seems like a very clean crisp flavor. I am currently on day two of a single carto. Not sure what voltage I am using but no burnt taste no stale taste no loss of draw. Yeah I use a drip tip and frequently drip into it. But I also do that on my reg carto's and the E2's I tried out.
