Thank God for small favors. He'd probably have a field day with this.

Oh dear lord! Wait till LGD sees this. We're all going OUTSIDE! And I don't like it there. They are soooo mean.

Yes, I think he said size doesn't matter, it's how long you go, but he only makes it 1/2 way... something like that Sounds like you need to keep looking.

Quick, have you been golfing again? Bowling?

But, Tib, he was so nice and helpful and knowledgeable in that other thread. I had no idea.

Who needs Scottbee when we have Br.

Really, Zelda... Time for some winter boots and a sensible parka. Isn't it cold in New England?

Never stopped anybody, Tib, dear.

This is all Katya's doing! :(

I drive a car. :p

Please do report. I am getting low & desperate on cartos

Back on topic, everybody. Nic, no need to get desperate, yet. The standard Boges are fine, the 2.5Ω Bauways are fine, Joyetech cartos are fine, albeit messy.

The new kid on the block, AZ Smokes 510 2.4Ω cartomizers arrived today. So far so good. Nice warm vapor, fluffy and porous filler, clean taste. This is based on one carto only, used for a couple of hours, so it's too early to draw any conclusions, but I'm guardedly optimistic.

More later.

It's always sunny when I'm here with you Katya.

Besides I think a big reason "they" let me stay on the thread is the avatar.:p

Thanks for the info on the AZSmokes cartos. They do sound promising.

Okay then, I'll quit trying to answer simple questions and get back to cartomizers.

For the past few days I have been testing two Revision 4 KR808 E2's. The long ones, not the short ones. Both measure about 3Ω.

The first one was great for a short while, then the wick began running dry. It didn't even make it through a 1/2 tank when I set it aside. I removed the entire assembly from the metal tube a couple days later and found that the wick was not long enough to go to the bottom of the reservoir. I made a br-bastomizer out of it and put the assembly back inside. Since it is now a mod, I won't say anymore about it in this post.

Meanwhile, I tested another one just the way it came out of the package. Filled it as per instructions and used it without cleaning the wick. The taste was good and so was the performance. That is, until it used about 1/2 the liquid inside. Then it acted like most XL's and the wick began running dry when vaped with the battery pointed down.

I keep making a big issue about this fault because I believe that a cartomizer should vape well at all times from any position. Some XL's will accomplish this, but they are few and far between. At the present time, the majority of XL's are okay for someone who doesn't mind fiddling with them. They are not ready for people who just want to fill and vape.

Of course, that depends on how people look at things. The regular (short ones) can be good to outstanding without fiddling with them, but they have to be filled up twice as often. However, the XL (long ones) can be good to outstanding without fiddling with them too, if they are topped off twice as often. So, we are right back where we started from. Do you like 'em short or do you like 'em long?

I like cartos that work well out of the box. The only reason I don't like atomizers/carts is that they all require modding to work well in the first place, none work out of the box, and then there is all that cleaning, maintenance, etc. I have a couple of 901 atties and a couple of eGo atties, and they taste better than any cartomizer I've ever tried, but they are a lot of trouble. I use them mainly for trying out new flavors or for occasional leisurely vaping at home when I can concentrate on what I'm doing. Unfortunately, most of my life is spent on the go and I really need the convenience that cartos offer.

I was very excited about the new Joyetech cartomizers because they really taste like dripping, but they turned out to be almost as much work as regular atomizers. They don't wick fast enough for me and refilling is a PITA. Same thing with the eGo mega cartos.

I am still looking forward to trying those 3Ω R2s, but it looks like they require some fiddling. I don't like to deal with syringes, either. And I can't imagine anybody going out in public with a syringe in their purse or back pocket, really.

Br, so the XLs dry out faster because the wick is too short in all of them? Or is there some other reason for that, too?

I don't care about size, as long as they work well.

I can understand your reasoning because I am the same way in some cases. I don't carry a syringe with me in public, tho. I just carry a few filled cartos with me instead.

No, all XL's do not have a short wick. The one I tested was even worse because it was too short. Most of them do not wick well because the liquid is too far away from the coil when the level gets too low. A few wicks will pick up that far, but there are too many factors involved for me to know why.

Yes, I believe you. I've been told the same thing about size on several occasions.

may be they have been going the wrong way with these cartos. may be smaller is better with these?

So how are they? Do they vape clean? talk to me.

I think that sums up this whole thread.

It does seem to be the case, doesn't it?

They, it, is nice. I'm still on my first one. It actually got better after a couple of refills. I like the filler; it's very porous and wicks fast. It doesn't hold as much juice as the Boge, but I guess one can't have everything. The vape is warm, not hot, very smooth, the flavor is better than my Boge, possibly better than the Bauway, but I'm not too sure. I ran out of the Bauways and so did MadVapes. I've been using it for almost 12hours and it's doing its thing as it should. I keep it wet because of its lower resistance than my Boge but I have no problems at all and no burning, no bad taste, no signs of shorting of other malfunctioning. That's all I can tell you for now.

And then it died. It was peaceful. No warning signs, no struggle, no fireworks. Just gave up the ghost after 12 hours or so of intermittent vaping. So that takes care of that.

Back to the Boge that's been doing great for 2 days.

Sweet dreams, ya'll.

EDIT: That was the 2.4Ω 510 cartomizer from AZ Smokes.

Again, it was my very first carto that died, there are duds everywhere, I'll keep you posted as I work my way through the box.

That was a "510 2.4ohm carto" from AZ smokes. It sounds like that's different than the "510 carto" from Cignot? (that takes a syringe to fill)

Thanks for the update. Too bad it didn't even last a day SIGH.

Br do you see any significant improvement with the R4 over the R3 versions? I'm somewhat happy with the R3.

The most significant improvement I see is that they do not leak into the cup. Some don't even leak if the filler ring is removed and replaced with the middle ring installed upside down. This makes fill ups much easier. However, a few do leak somewhat in this configuration.

I'm really liking the "genuine Joye 510 cartomizers" I got from Cignot (fill with syringe type).
The giant "Joye eGo" ones less so -- but I still like them. The concept is great. It's just that the draw is a bit too airy for me and they leak when full (or maybe overfilled). The thing is that the plastic outer just sort of snaps onto the thread/barrel portion at the bottom. I carry my BB/SB with the carto up, either in my belt holster or my pocket. That means that I tend to grab the thing by the whistle tip to pull it out. Eventually I always end up pulling off the plastic outer. It's not like juice floods out or it ruins the thing, but you have to notice it and then snap the barrel back onto the base... and like I said the draw is a bit too airy for me. The regulars are just right on the draw. only wish they had a textured whistle tip and a little more capacity.
