Oh, hi, Zelda! Sorry, I didn't recognize you with your clothes on! :p

Sorry Katya I won't change again for a while. Don't want to confuse anyone. :)

How could I forget those LEGS ??? :hubba::w00t::hubba:

Right back at you salt :hubba::w00t::hubba:

Neo great review and autopsy. Good job.

Tib love the avatar. I do like Arjay's showdown idea!

And that's all the worthwhile comments I have for now.

Now what we need is a face off between tiburonfirst & nicnac's cat avatars. Inscrutability vs fanaticism.
We need both on this thread.

I dont think they manufacture...
Just like I don't think EM does either.
But that isn't to say they dont contract out the work.
But I really don't know.
So you can skip this post if you want :)
They contract out to whoever makes them cheaper. We poor suckers trying to figure out who makes what.
there can't be more than a handful of manufacturers.

Those Trueman's don't thread well on My RIVA 901s. Neither do the Boge 808d-1's. Can't really figure it out. But the KR brand seem to thread fine

I've seen a lot of complaints about the compatibility issues re. Rivas 901 and kr808 cartos. Looks like the old Kanger threads fit the best, while the newer, tweaked cartos (CoolCarts, Turbos [Boge?]) have problems. Somebody reported that the old V4L cartos, the pre-premium kind, work great.

you might have misunderstood, neo. remember, a while back we were trying to figure out if trueman did their own manufacturing or if they got their merchandise from somewhere else.

We never did find out, did we?

Oh, the mysteries of the Chinese carto industry! I think they all sort of contract out, in one way or another. Janty's line is made by Joyetech industries. Eastmall has their stuff (like Eastmall Riva) made for them specifically, but nobody really knows by whom. I remember a very long thread, some time ago; folks were trying to figure out who manufactured EM products, but to no avail.

I even with my AVS, I can still burn a carto in a day :D
(3Ω Boge 808d-1)

even with a direct liquid feed, the coil seems to just get too hot for the sock at 6v. The filler was nearly pristine. some darkened juice, but nothing near black.
I will play with the control ring, and see if I can get it to feed the carto faster, but think that may not help.

Sort of a bummer though... I kinda wanted to try out 7.4v!

why would you want to go high voltage when you can get the same results going with low resistance?

I vape at a higher voltage on this particular mod because the total resistance is 6 ohms. This one has two 3Ω coils in series and two wick assemblies.

Edit: I could connect the coils in parallel and use it at a lower voltage. The resistance would then be 1.5Ω.

I'm sure it will end up in the "Museum of Early American e-cigs" some day.
I can not even imagine what this gadget would look like.

This is what the wick and coil assemblies look like out in the open:

It is shown here screwed on to a Hello 16 battery for display only. It will not work on this battery.

Here's an idea: rig two pairs of coils in series, with each pair in parallel. Then you'll be right back to 3 ohms!

Seriously though, what does that thing vape like?
It works very well for me at about 6 volts or less, which means that each coil is working at about 3 volts. A single 3Ω coil in a C-E2 cartomizer works well enough for me at 3.1 volts, so naturally two of them will produce a good bit more vapor. I don't think it's twice as much, though. When operated at 7.4 volts, these things are still loafing at 3.7 volts, so there is not much danger of popping them. I can't imagine why anyone in their right mind would want that much vapor, other than bragging rights.

"I've been playing with the new drip-style 510 cartos for over a week now and I am impressed. The flavor is impeccable for a cartomizer; my ejuices taste nice, crisp and clean. The vapor production and TH are just as I like them. I've been using them on my eGo and they are surprisingly smooth and mellow for 2.5Ω cartos. The one I'm vaping right now has vaporized at least 5-6 ml of my 'houseblend' (Drewbacco1 mixed with VS Tampa) and is still going strong. No signs of flavor deterioration or diminished vapor production; however, the draw has tightened a little bit. Normally, 6 ml is just about my limit. Disposable cartos were not designed to handle more than that amount, IMO. I know that crud is beginning to caramelize on the coil..."

Above is the review I posted on IKV site. After 5 or 6 ml, the taste went pretty bad, so I ripped the guts out of the carto and found clean filler, no burn marks on the filler or the sock, but there was some permanent dicoloration on the little 'diaper' thingy. I'm not sure what the cause of the flavor change was. The carto just didn't taste as fresh as it did at the beginning. The drip style cartomizer is nice but doesn't last any longer than other cartomizers on the market. Isaac announced that he would offer an option without a drip tip, no word on the price yet.

Boys, boys. Really...

BR, have you considered using a jump start cable and hooking it up to your car battery? A BR Passthrough? Salt might like it.
