It's about time you came up with that explanation. I was wondering how long it would take for you to find it. I knew about it, but wasn't going to look for it, heheh.

You're so mean! I had a feeling you were just sitting there on all the answers and enjoying my agony.

I think ~240-~250C is a good number for a kindof/sortof general vaping temp. It's going to vary from there based on a few dozen factors. juice, vaporization chamber in the atty/carto, materials surrounding it, air flow, humidity, ambient temperature, temperature of the juice fed onto the coil, etc, etc, etc,

There are some other considerations like are the ends of the coil kept just as wet as the center and stuff like that. When you are considering fillers, and cups, and wick materials you have to assume it's at least going to glow orange pretty often. You can go from there.

Would you care to refine your question? Are you just curious about the temp required to vaporize your generic juice? or what.

I'm not sure what BR did to that carto that he so kindly fixed for me, but it works. I know that he torched and adjusted the wicks.

I was under the impression that torching and adjusting the wicks required destructive disassembly (i.e. cutting the tube), but it sounds like the magic BR carto is in the stock tube... is that true? If so, BR, how did you manage that?

I remove the tube from the fitting. Screw the cartomizer on an old battery, then clamp the battery in a vise close to the base fitting so that it will not collapse. Push the cartomizer to the side just enough to feel a small movement. This stretches the metal of the tube somewhat. The idea is not to stretch it too much. Then begin moving it around in a rotating motion while pulling on it. If done successfully, it can be put back on without leaking. If it is stretched too far, press the fitting on the other end. Use the vise to press it back on. It will leak if it is not pressed down tight on the flange. I have done this numerous times to the same tube without it leaking.

Some tubes have a slightly different inside diameter, so some are very tight and others are not. The larger ones may have a bit of glue in them to help hold it on. This kind of thing happens with just about any cartomizer, C-E2 or otherwise. This is why some of the old white plastic mouthpiece tips were glued in and some of them were not.
