I've noticed a burnt taste on a few of my cartomisers that I purchased from vape4life. I just ordered the joy ego. Will I have the same problems with this PV? If so, what kind of PV do you have that you consider safe? I haven't had an analog in over 3 weeks and would like to continue to vape, but I don,t want to start another very unhealthy habit.
Hi, Bornwild, and welcome. I agree with everything my learned collegues said above. I may add that I am very familiar with V4L because I started vaping with them and there is nothing wrong with their product. Their batteries are very good, the manuals, I never cared for their autos. They carry two kinds of cartomizers, the LR premiums (~2Ω) and the HR CoolCarts (~3.2Ω). The LR premiums are much more prone to burning. [The WOW cartos can be anything--premiums, CC or even their old cartomizers, so you never know what you're using. WOW is their new line of juices, not cartos. It's complicated.] Which cartomizers did you have problems with? Were they prefilled or blanks? If blanks, are you sure you filled them properly? They take ~30 drops of eliquid; if underfilled, they are more likely to burn.
EGo is my (and many others') favorite PV, even though it's not foolproof. It has finicky circuitry and its infamous MOSFET switch has caused many heated debates on the forum. But the eGo/Riva/Tornado class batteries are easy to use and generally dependable (if they don't die within the first two weeks, chances are they will work fine for at least 200-400 cycles). If you ordered a kit, it will come with atomizers and cartridges. Some folks love dripping and consider it superior to cartomizers; others don't have the patience to deal with the three-piece design. See how you like it. But even if you do, I suggest you order some cartomizers, just for convenience. I recommend the Boge--they are by far the most reliable 510 cartomizers. I use and like both the 3 and the 2Ω versions. Just keep them wet, not flooded, but well saturated, at all times, and you should be OK.
Good luck and keep us posted.
Not familiar with your setup, but consider that a singe in a carto and a bad taste no way imitates the process of burning an entire cigarette. Not comparable in the least.
This is not to say we want burnt carto's Just giving you something to chew on.
Well, we really don't want to go there because we don't know, do we? You may be right, you most likely are, but there have been no studies of any kind as to what it is we're inhaling when our cartos start to burn. So let's just try not to burn them. I can tell you from experience that I have, in the past, inhaled fumes that constricted my airways and made me want to throw up. That was some time ago, when I had no idea what I was doing and the cartomizers were worse than they are now, but that was the reason I found and joined this thread. 'nuff said.
Just a note: Burnt taste does not necessarily mean burnt carto materials.
True, but it's never fun. Cartos short (really nasty "car on fire" smoke), the wicks burn, the crud on the coil begins to smolder, sometimes the polyfill begins to melt... Not to mention all kinds of unknown and foul tasting substances that the atties and wicks are soaked in during the manufacturing process...those burn too.
