I would venture to guess your carto is getting clogged and not wicking which isn't due to the voltage but more your juice. I mainly vape 6V or higher and use 80pg/20vg. I've had carto's in tanks that have lasted months without any problems. I've vaped dark and clearer juice so that's not a problem either. If you're using naturally extracted tobaccos, there's your problem. With naturally extracted, the maker can't remove all the tiny particles that are still floating around in it...those particles are the culprit.

100% VG juices seem to clog carto's faster than a mix of higher PG. What is your mix ratio? Are you using factory pre-punched carto's for your tanks? If so, you need to make the holes bigger. Those tiny holes don't wick fast enough if you chainvape. Non-wicking will cause your filler to burn resulting in that horrid taste.
