Burnt taste?

I can go through about 2 tanks, maybe 3, before getting a horrible burnt taste from my PV. Is this normal? How long should a cartomizer last? I'm using a lavatube, at about 4.5 - 4.8

I love the tank option, but hate this burnt stuff. I don't wanna have to replace, or clean it after a day or 2.

It sounds like you are vaping at a high voltage (I normally vape at about 3.8) and the juice is not having enough time to wick fully. Try using something more PG 80PG/20VG or add a couple of drops of vodka to thin the juice

What kind of carto is in the tank, and what ohm is it? And what kind of juice are you vaping? If it is a LR carto your voltage is kind of high, if the juice is a sweeter flavor or mostly VG it could be gunking up the coil pretty quick.

3.0 ohms I believe. Juices are of the sweeter bunch,yes. Maybe is just the heat. Its friggin a million degrees here

I would venture to guess your carto is getting clogged and not wicking which isn't due to the voltage but more your juice. I mainly vape 6V or higher and use 80pg/20vg. I've had carto's in tanks that have lasted months without any problems. I've vaped dark and clearer juice so that's not a problem either. If you're using naturally extracted tobaccos, there's your problem. With naturally extracted, the maker can't remove all the tiny particles that are still floating around in it...those particles are the culprit.

100% VG juices seem to clog carto's faster than a mix of higher PG. What is your mix ratio? Are you using factory pre-punched carto's for your tanks? If so, you need to make the holes bigger. Those tiny holes don't wick fast enough if you chainvape. Non-wicking will cause your filler to burn resulting in that horrid taste.

A burnt taste comes from only two things, a dry carto (wicking issue) or the voltage is to high for the resistance used.
I've been using the same two cartos in the same two tanks for over a month, and I have no idea how many times they have been refilled at this point.

Try punching an extra hole in the carto

I've heard it's better to cut a slot with a dremel like this Dremel Hobby 300 Series Tool: Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools as you can deform the tube trying to punch a hole which in turn can cause leaking due to poor fit.
