Busted by a soccer mom...

I vape in my vehicle fairly regularly, and I usually try to vape discretely. I'm not sure why. Anyway, the other day I was stopped at a light and a middle aged women in a minivan pulls up next to me. Not really thinking too much about it I sort of ducked down to take a toke off of my battery pass through because it was plugged in at the time. We had one of those moments. Eye contact for my whole puff and exhale. I could tell by the look on her face she thought I was smoking crack or something. Embarrassing as .....

Anyone else have any interesting pseudo mishaps such as the above?

The last thing I ever try to do in public is be discreet when I vape, especially in my vehicle. It sort of makes you look like your trying to hide something, like smoking crack. I've gotten a few off handed looks while I'm at a red light, but nothing too serious like they were going to call the cops or anything.

Not at all discreet myself either, and I vape with a 6ml DCT hooked up to a eGo battery, not exactly the setup for the sore eyes. I vape it in the middle of classes, one of them, I sit dead center in the middle of the classroom. Low resistance, HUGE vapor clouds. I've had two ladies ask me what it was and I just taught them what it was and they said that it was a damned cool setup and told me to continue.

Vape while walking through Wal-Mart had 3 employees, all females lol yell at me saying no smoking in here. What did I do? I said in a smartass attitude, "I'm not smoking, it's a personal vaporizer, water and nicotine is all that i'm breathing." Their response as I walked past them 5 mins later after grabbing my little 750ml of cheap wal-mart vodka for cleaning, "Hey, let me try that?" My response? "Nope, get your own, they're pretty cheap :)."

Don't be discreet about vaping, don't go into smoking areas while vaping. Vape in areas that are considered non-smoking areas at all costs. People will call you out on it and that's when you swallow your pride and start schooling. It's the only way people will learn. I've had from the curious to the raging, each and every single one of them came out with powerful knowledge and a great support for vaping.

My next tactic? Although not true by any means, is tell these people that I was a PAD smoker since I was 14 and the day I started to vape, I dropped the cancer sticks and never looked back. My mottois, It isn't who or what your past and current deal is, it's how you portray yourself to everyone that will make the biggest impact.

I was outside a local pub and this older hippie looking guy comes outside for a smoke. I just put my EVO with DCT to my mouth to take a drag and from the corner of my eye I see him chuckling to himself. He asked what it was and after my usual spiel he actually seemed disappointed that it just contained nicotine and that I wasn't getting high. :p

I acutally get bored while driving and attempt to fish bowl the vehicle. Then when there is mist hanging everywhere crack the window and let it zip out. I dont do anything discreetly. I used to when I started vaping, now i just do it out in the open. It just ends up like your soccer mom, they assume it is something far more nefarious than just a atomizer.

I vape proud, I love telling people they helped me stop smoking, I have had many soccer moms and basketball dads first wonder what I was doing and are then happy for my quitting (given away a lot of info and cards this way :thumb:)and also seem relieved that I'm not smoking pot in front of their kids!!!

Well, I do try not to vape around cops while driving, they seem perplexed by 'smoke' without continuous combustion when you're driving, its such a hassle to get stopped.....

On my way home, while vaping on my Precise 18650 w/ 6ml tank and tie-dye ming drip tip.... yes yes, a bit of an eye sore...
There was a group of teens in a Camry cruising next to me... They honk the horn to get my attention, and EVERY single one was waving a pack of zig-zags

Preaching words about e-cigs would have just gone unheard, so i just let them think whatever they wanted.

Not to long ago, I was pulled over for "driving suspiciously". when the officer noticed my PV laying there on the dash as i casually give him my papers.
He asks me what it was in a very concerned voice. I simply state that it is my e-cig.
He then states that it is something that i should have put away and out of view before the officer walked over to my car...

My only response to that was, " If i was scattering to hide my e-cig, i'm sure you would have had a gun pointed to my face, and telling me to slowly get out of the car, considering the reason why i was pulled over in the first place..."

That's all i got...

as for the random stares while driving, i just look at them and smile.

I really couldn't care less what anyone thinks...even when I was smoking. My life, not theirs... tuff t...s!;)
I hear that. I don't attempt to hide it. One benefit of having a visual disability is I can't see people shootin daggers out their eyes at me so screw 'em. I'm getting healthier doing this so they can go pound salt.
