I saw a while back in this thread you (OP) said something about removing the insulator. You need that to prevent a short. Congrats on the inbound reverse tux yer gonna love it.

Thanks!
I was gonna try a thin insulating tape of some type around the center pin. If that leaves enough of a gap around the perimeter.

Hey all,
I am excited to begin the world of "squonking!"
I just need to verify if I want the REO GRAND, or the LOW PROFILE REO. I will be using drip type RDA's for the most part, I believe, for flavor and looser draw.
What's the difference?

Thanks! Gary

For your purpose, the Low profile would be more practical. Suggestion, having both is good to have. :vapor:

Hey REO gang, I want to jump in here because I also just ordered my first LP REO Grand today. And I tell you, I am really excited, I've been lusting for one for months now. The finances have been a little tight of late, so I've just been as patient as I can. But a couple of things worked out, so today was the day! Woohoo! I picked up a blemished orange LP Grand for a bargain price + a reomizer. I have one question for you REO pros, I'm sure I'll have more later. I need batteries. I see that AW 18650 1600 mah are recommended. Is there any reason not to get the 2000 mah? Or should I stick with the 1600 mah? RTD Vape seems to be Rob's recommended vendor, I like them and have an account there already.

I'm gonna be using my 2500mAh when mine gets here early next week. RDA's, especially dual coils, will really eat batteries at .7 ohms or so where I expect to be vaping. I have some Sony VTA4 and VTA5's which should be fine, I imagine.

I'm sure you meant VTC's... You might want to check out the subΩ thread here in the Reo forum as there is a lot of discussion about how much arcing the VTC's have been doing. It seems the material they used for the top posts are of a sub par quality and are very prone to pitting... Just a heads up...

...ya, I meant VTC's.
They are very good batteries IMO but care must be taken when pulling them in and out of the device and charger. I have a couple in daily rotation for about 6 months and have no issues with pitting. However, the "care" I'm referring to is in regards to the jacketing material around both poles which may loosen up or begin to separate if handled roughly. Except for that, they have been very good- to me, anyway.
I sub ohm, but I don't go crazy. .6-.8 on a regular basis.

Hey brickfollet, I have that Trident and am quite interested in how you converted it to bottom feed. I have taken out the bottom screw and kind of looked at it. Does the center post just press out upward with enough force? And did you then just cut or drill out the insulator? Any help/guidance will be greatly appreciated. I really like the Trident.

I didn't modify it, I had a fellow member on the forum do it for me. He slotted the 510 pin in two spots, exactly corresponding to the slot of the flathead screwdriver. Looking at it from the bottom when separated from the device, you have to know what your looking for to figure out where the slots are.

The positive post itself was drilled at an angle in two spots to accommodate for bottom feeding. And yeah, I really really like the Trident V2 as well. Mines an EHpro, but is far superior to the clone I picked up at the local B&M (I have two). I bought the nicer EHpro because A. The first one was my first real dripper and B. I liked it so much, I wanted a better quality one to go with my high quality Reo Grand!
