I'm a big fan of BWB Backo. That's an understatement, I guess, since for almost 4 months now it's been my 24x7 one-and-only juice. I like it for the lack of flavor as much as anything; cigarette smoke doesn't have much taste, as far as that goes -- it's more a feeling/sensation. Backo comes as close to that, and doesn't leave an omnipresent aftertaste in my mouth when I'm not vaping.
If I could describe the taste to someone (subjective for sure), I would say it tastes like clean, filtered water... the almost sour flavor you get from a good bottled water. I'm looking for the ingredient that creates that flavor/effect. Malty has the same flavor... I would describe Malty as having 2 overriding flavors. When I f vape malty, I first get the same "filtered water" taste as I get with Backo. Behind this water flavor, I get a nutty/buttery that is common among tobacco flavoring. The nutty flavor doesn't come up behind Backo, and I don't particularly enjoy tobacco flavors, so that's why I prefer Backo.
Anyone who has vaped both know what that ingredient is? Maybe it's subliminal advertising, but the fact that BWB's logo for Malty looks like carbonated water makes me think it might taste the same to others. I haven't tried ethyl maltol but from what I read that's mostly a sweetener -- Backo is not sweet at all. Also could definitely be a floral overtone creating the effect -- one of FA's floral flavors maybe? Also saw Bitter Wizard on FA's site -- made to tone down sweetness -- but said it's new and Backo has been around a while.
Grasping at straws for the "distilled water" flavor in Backo/Malty... any ideas? t
