This seems to be the longest thread about taste buds I've ever seen. I vape cinnamon now, as it's one of two flavors I can actually "taste"; the other being peach. Just like flavors, I think cleansing your pallet is an individual thing. For some brushing your teeth and tongue help, for others just a glass of ice water. I do know that vaping definitely dehydrates most of us, so always keeping water or your favorite drink available is suggested. I think time is the best solution for our taste buds. For me 30+ years of smoking have done quite a number on them. The same goes with smelling things. I still can't smell cigarette smoke unless its in a really tight area or an area that hasn't been aired out for some time.

Yeah you know you've become dulled to your daily vape when your 27 year old son asks to take a hit... And he almost choked down. He's a heavy analog user yet but he couldn't handle my TV Atomic Cinnacide.

And I have used it so much it tastes almost like cherry to me. My constant beverage preference of Cran-Grape cocktail even with its acid content isn't purging the old pallet anymore.

I don't want to speak badly of any vendor, but I tried juice from Gourmet Vapor (first reg, then double, then triple), freedomsmokeusa, TVR, VelvetVapors, bombay @ 25% flavor, and quite a few others that are "highly recommended" here in the newbie forum and I found them all to be lacking in flavor. There is a reason these vendors have sales all the time. Try a full flavor vendor like Mr-E-Liquid or Vermillion River, ... they are so good they won't even let you double the flavor. Your taste buds will thank you.

Ps. MEL has a couple flavors that really cleanse the taste buds too .. Green Van and Lemon Ice. That's what I use when flavor starts to drop off.

OK, a few observations on the comments thus far:

If you don't like tomato juice, you probably won't like red beer (RB).
As to spicy foods, maybe the V8 SH has enough 'heat' to cleanse the 'buds'.
Mints and chewing gum have not worked for me.
Cheap wine I can handle, just not before noon.
Changing flavor helps a bit, but not like the RB.

So, thanx for the inputs so far!

I've read people discussing brushing teeth, but the most important thing is your tongue.

After some oral surgery, I had to swish with an anti-microbial liquid that turned my tongue black for a long time. After weeks of tongue scraping and brushing my tongue, I found that my taste buds had improved tremendously, even as an analog smoker! All of your taste buds are on your tongue, so if you brush or scrape your tongue (tongue scrapers can be found at any drug store) regularly (once or twice a day), you will notice a dramatic improvement in taste. I prefer a good brushing to scraping.
