Hi RC. I'm still not done reading the whole thread but I remember Brewdawg saying that when AFC fully closed, on his, there was no air at all. I'm thinking o-rings. Ah, just saw Brewdawg's post about that. Sorry for the repeat but worth saying that most of us have been vaping for awhile now and I find it vexating that ONE device could fall into the hands of so many people with so many variances. How can we have a proper discussion when we first have to launch an investigation and analyze possible flaws in the mechanical engineering? I had more faith in Ehpro. Every Ehpro product I've purchased has passed quality control save one. And that one was sold to me by someone else. It was the original Bachelor with a top fill cap that was so loose I had to secure it with a vape band. Lol, I'm starting to think it's karma! Whatever it is I'm not pleased hearing all the stories and am miffed that my vape friends get put through the mill when all they want to do is enjoy a good vape. This is just plain bad business practice, imo. If all of you were discussing clones from SXK, SJMY, Coppervape, Ulton, YFTK, et al, it would be understood but EHPRO? The same thing happened with the Ares manufactured by Innokin, another trusted name in the business. My Ares was flawless but two of my friends had "lemons". I was starting to doubt them, thinking they didn't know what they were doing. It was driving everyone crazy. They thought they were at fault, too, because others were getting good results. In the end and after 2-3 months of sheer madness it was clearly shown that there were flaws in their Ares tank(s). Yes, they both bought 2 because they were so psyched about the hype. If I remember, one of those tanks was okay but can you imagine buying two of something and they both crap out on you. So, 1 out of 4 was good. Is that acceptable? END OF RANT.........good morning:)
I agree, Muth - the Ares did suffer. I had a couple that didn't have those issues, but I just didn't like the vape. But I'm not so sure about any significant issues with the True. I remember seeing a post of one that had a broken oring out of the box. And RC says he can draw air with his closed. Both are simple oring issues.

But on the leaking? I just searched this thread for the word leak, and 2 of the (only) 3 that had the issue fixed it on the next build with wicking. I swapped a tank for the only other member's that had a leak, and I haven't had a leak out of it wicking it to the bottom. I'm really finding these every bit as trouble-free as the doggies. It's the best tank I've ever owned by a fair margin.

I love mine, and after stuffing a bit more wicking on either side, I have not had a drop of leaking. This tank is SUPER smooth, it really is a matter of the right amount (more than many tanks) and longer tails that you tuck up, at least for me.

It's the oddest little tank but YES, super smooth and quite fun.

You must be really crafty, Muth. And you're definitely underestimating my laziness! ;)
Haha, Idk about "crafty" but I have been nicknamed muthgyver (after tv personality, Macgyver:laugh:). You know, the guy who'll make an IED out of tin foil:lol:?

Well, thank you for cutting to the chase for me. When you're not familiar with all the players you can't be too sure about what's happening. In most of my experiences wicking is the "devil in the details" and usually the last skill a vaper masters. And sometimes an ongoing education because of the differences in atomizers. Thanks again:)

Back in the day, we could title our posts.

If this were the case now, I'd call this:

I FOUND A WAY TO ELIMINATE LEAKS, TRUE.

;)

Just bling it.

Well, my true arrived just before the weekend and I've been using it since Thursday. This thing is super smooth. No leaking issues to speak of at this point. It was a little gurgly the first time I filled it, but no issues since then. When I fill it, I don't close the airflow at all, and no issues with flooding or anything like that and no gurgling since the first fill. Not sure if it's just a new build or what exactly, but for some reason, I feel like it doesn't wick quite as well as the doggies. I haven't been getting any dry hits at all, but it just seems maybe a little less saturated, still can't put my finger on it. I do use max vg if that makes a difference. Well, I guess that's all I'll report for now.

Yeah, I don't know what it is about the first build - mine had issues leaking, and a few others did. But since then - it's been amazing. The dryest tank I've ever owned. I just rebuilt over the weekend, and it occurred to me there wasn't even a drop of condesation to wipe...no need to wipe the atty or top of mod at all. If you just wick them longer than specified, they work great- make sure to have it long enough to touch & tuck at the very bottom. I use all VG, and haven't had any issues at all, but I'm very low watts, no real chain vaping. I'm absolutely cured of tank shinyitis for now.

So... inspired by Anna's posts, I ordered one and it arrived in the mail a few days ago.

This story has a happy ending but it didn't start well. First build on Tue evening leaked overnight and dumped most of 2ml all over my mod and coffee table. Cleaned it up Wed morning, built it again, tightened everything, filled it again and when I got home from work, there was e-liquid all over my atomizer stand and coffee table again. Leak was definitely from AF but also seemed to be coming from the 510 connector.

Complete tear down on Wed evening, washed and dried everything, replaced the 3 black o-rings with spares, built it again, re-tightened everything again, especially the 510 pin. Then I set it down in a bowl overnight, fully prepared to chuck the whole thing if I woke up to a bowl full of 50/50.

Success! Yesterday morning everything was completely dry and it's been great for the day and a half since then. I have yet to refill it so we'll see how that goes -- I'm really hoping that I won't have to fiddle with the AFC to fill it (which is the one thing that drives me crazy about the Prime).

I'm going to hang out with the True for a couple more days then I'll come back here to post some impressions.

Thanks to @stols001 for pointing me at this excellent atty.

After a week with this tank, I can confirm what everyone here has said: fairly easy to build and wick, easy to fill, super smooth draw, completely silent, consistently dense vapour with lots of flavour. Zero leaks laying horizontally in my jacket pocket all day. Works perfectly with TC.

Some comparisons with the Hastur mini and KF Prime, my two main everyday vapes:

I find that throat hit on the True is less than the other two, which both have amazing throat hit (especially the Prime) using my usual 15mg freebase 50/50 menthol. The True is a little too smooth on the inhale and I find myself missing the throat hit.

The True seems to go through liquid a little faster than the Prime and a lot faster than the Hastur mini. I find it also vapes warmer than the Hastur mini, which is warmer than the Prime. Not a complaint, just something to note.

The smallest AF setting on the True is 1mm but feels tighter than the draw on the Prime set to 1mm. I never understood why the Hastur mini doesn't have a 1mm in between the 0.8mm and 1.2mm so this actually sits really nicely in that space.

Last point about the True -- I hate the white plastic showing through the fill ports when it's closed. That just really bugs me for some reason. Aside from that, this tank actually looks really nice. I've swapped out the plastic drip tip for a steel one.

This is an awesome, affordable little MTL RTA that is a real pleasure to vape on, and I'm so glad that I took a chance on it. It's definitely going into rotation, with the relatively weaker throat hit putting it just behind the other two.

I don't know what it is about the True, but first builds seem to leak, then quit completely. I agree with most of what you're saying, but not about the Prime. That's why I quit the Prime for the Doggy. I wasn't getting TH out of it.

And I'm not real OCD, but agree the white fill gasket does look bad. They should do it in gray or black.

True is all I use anymore. And I can't believe how dry it stays. Every other atty I've had, a little vapor would waft out of the afc hole, and make it necessary to wipe the top of the mod periodically. I can use this for days and never have a drop on the mod.

As much as I loved the doggy, I can't even really use it any more. This thing has spoiled me.

Late to the party but this looks like a good bet for my daughter, thanks Kat.

Evidently, what we've got here is a new (fairly new?) MTL tank designed by Ehpro & NatureVape.

The Ehpro True, according to web info, is a unique and compact MTL RTA with optional 2ml/3ml e-juice capacity.

The True comes in three colors.

View attachment 784713

It mainly features the innovative two ways for coil building. So you can install the coil under the clamp or under the screw, which "brings you much more convenience".
View attachment 784719

Plus the easy top refill design, the Ehpro True MTL RTA "will bring you great vaping experience".

View attachment 784715
And the Ehpro True MTL RTA also comes with five air slots with different diameters for your selection.
View attachment 784717

Size: 22 x 41.5mm(without 510 thread)
Capacity: 2ml (a 3ml bubble glass tube included)
Material: stainless steel/glass/acrylic
Thread: 510 thread

It comes with:
  • 1x Ehpro True MTL RTA 2ml
  • 1x 3ml Bubble Glass Tube
  • 1x Screwdriver
  • 1x User Manual
  • 1x A Pack of O-rings
  • 2x Pre-made Coils
  • 2x Philips Screws

I do not (yet?) own one of these tanks, so I'm going to turn this over to our resident True expert, @Brewdawg1181, who is definitely enamored with this new little tank!

C'mon down, Brew! :D

At this price and performance, buying this RTA is really a no-brainer. I just wish it worked better out of the box -- I almost gave up on it after two days of fiddling and leaking, and I suspect some folks will give up on it before they get it right. I kind of expect the fiddling from high end stuff with a gazillion tiny things to adjust but not at this price point. Still, once you get it right... wow!

I don't know what it is about the True, but first builds seem to leak, then quit completely. I agree with most of what you're saying, but not about the Prime. That's why I quit the Prime for the Doggy. I wasn't getting TH out of it.

Yeah I find I get different throat hit with different juices on the same atomizer, even with the same nic levels. So it might just be this particular liquid, but it's the only one I use 95%+ of the time.

Hey anyone use it in its more "traditional" setup? I haven't but I would love to hear from someone who has.

What's the traditional setup?

I agree this little tank is amazing. I kind of believe I may be buying a bunch.

Anna

Traditional, Anna? Meaning the use of the 2ml tank vs. the Bobble glass? If so, then yes, mine is set up that way.
