so I’ve been making my own vape juices for a while now and all has been well.

A while back I made this juice with this flavor called nectar of the gods. It’s a citrusy orange flavor. Ever since I put that god forsaken juice in my tank, every vape hit I take is riddled with that ........ orange .... taste. I’ve tried changing coils, I changed the juice, I cleaned the tank, I changed the ........ tank! Nothing works. I hit my girlfriends vape and it tastes just fine. Idk what to do in about to just buy a whole new kit. How could the taste persist from an entire new tank but not taste like .... when I hit my girls vape ? Is it just me ? Any ideas before I just buy a new mod/tank?

Try soaking your whole tank and o-rings in straight vinegar for a couple of hours or overnight then try again with a fresh coil. If you have some spare o-rings you might try to replace the ones you're using now - the flavor could be permanently embedded in them.

Don’t forget to wash the vinegar out though. That would present a whole new problem :D

I changed the ........ tank!
I am not understanding. How can you still be tasting it if you change the tank? That should mean all contaminated parts are gone.

There are some flavor concentrates that will leach into plastics and rubber. If the vinegar doesn't do the trick; try a neutral distilled spirit (like vodka, or a light rum). The higher the proof; the better. If you have access to pure grain alcohol (PGA, Everclear), then that is even better. Give it an overnight soak. Then, rinse, and dry thoroughly... remember alcohol is flammable. ;)

Sometimes (depending on the plastic/rubber) the flavor is there to stay. If the tank wall is glass, replacing the o-rings/seals as @ceeceeisme suggested, can do the trick. If the tank wall is plastic, either dedicate that tank to similar citrus flavors, or toss it. The flavor will eventually dissipate with use; but it may take some time.

Don't forget to clean your drip tip too. If the DT is plastic; try using a different one.

Good luck. :)

If you don't have an ultrasonic cleaner, now would be the time (if it's less than the cost of a new tank but it will serve you well, etc. if you get one) O rings need replaced for sure. If it's not a glass tank, you may need a new tank some plastic tanks will allow eliquid to leech into them a bit.

Personally I love ultem tanks because I drop things, etc., but there are all kinds of trade offs in vaping. Etc.

That happened to me with a cereal flavor. Disgusting! I have a glass tank and even after cleaning I could smell it. I ended up washing it again o-rings and all and then I placed it on paper towels in an old large glass ashtray and left it there for days. Each day I would smell it and say "yuck" and turn it so a different part was exposed to the air.

Finally, after 4 or 5 days I was thrilled that the smell was finally gone.

If it is plastic, as mentioned, you will probably need a new part.
