Hi!

Took delivery of this today: Innokin iTaste Kroma Kit

Absolutely love the mod and tank - really solid, love the semi-recessed tank, and the top loading seems truly leak free and really easy to use. The screen brightness is a bit rubbish but the overall quality is great and feels like a real step up from iSticks.

BUT:

I'm having a few issues, some of which may be just me getting used to Subohming. I wondered if anyone could give any advice:

1. I've put a menthol juice in one tank with the 0.8ohm kanthal coil. Great clouds, nice direct lung hit - it's a new liquid I've not tried before so it may just not be all that great but there's no nuance to the flavour, just straight menthol taste. (It's MSB High VG from Decadent Vapors).

(Nice side effect is that this juice is great for clearing the sinuses!)

2. Everything else I've tried (all with the 0.5 SS coils) has been rather underwhelming, especially in terms of flavour. Maybe these coils need more time to bed in but they seem to add a bit of a chemical edge to the flavours, including one I'm already familiar with - it doesn't taste as good as it does in a CS Air tank on a 30W iStick set on 12W - surely this can't be right?

3. I'm also really struggling to see how anyone can vape above 25-30 watts with this setup - much above that and the mouthpiece gets really hot. Even in TC mode with it set to just 160c, it's hot way before I can get as much of a drag as I would like.

I know it's really early days and I have to get used to its foibles, but anything that could point me in the right direction would be much appreciated. I really love the quality of this setup but for flavour particularly I'm rather underwhelmed...

Ps. Is there anything wrong with using this setup at LOWER wattages than recommended?

I don't have this hardware btportugal, but I have a couple of thought that might help a bit.

The 0.8 ohm Kanthal head is rated for 20-35 watts. The 0.8 ohm SS316 says only 160-230C which is a bit unfortunate IMO as SS can be used in both wattage and TC modes. There is no reason at all you can't go less than the suggested wattage or temperature. I suggest you start at say 15 watts (less is OK too, too low and it just won't do much) with the 0.8 ohm head and increase in steps until you get the best vape for you with the juice you have in it. I would also start with the SS head in wattage mode at the same start point. That will just make it simpler for you and if you find a vape at some wattage you like you can then switch to TC mode and replicate it by adjusting the temperature. After going through this exercise you'll have two ways to vape the SS head if you ever want to switch.

The higher the watts you set the quicker you'll want to inhale to keep the vapor and the hardware cooler. Then again, some atties just warm up more than others. If that atty has air flow control, looks like it might by turning the top part to open/close the air slots, the more you open the slots the easier it will be to inhale faster.

Some atties are just not that good at flavor. I read/watch reviews on stuff before I buy something new so I know what to expect. Sometimes reviews will also give details of any quirks and/or workarounds people have found for products.

Good luck with it :thumb:
