There's a little delrin cap that fits on top of that button....makes it a little more comfortable. You can get them on the Reosmods.com site. (NOW we tell you, huh? Ha.) That button isn't all that bad at all, though. The tendency is to "mash" the button when, in fact, you really barely have to push it down for it to fire. When you get your juice and get things up and running, hold the Grand up to your ear and push the button just enough to hear it fire (sizzle) and you'll see that you just barely have to depress it.

Also, (don't mean to treat you like a newbie, but this is important)....when you get your cartomizers, make sure they are juiced up before you fire them. If you fire a cartomizer without liquid in it, it'll burn the filler.....and once that filler is burnt or scorched, it's gone. That burnt taste will never go away....you'll just have to toss it. Some people have said you don't have to fill the cartomizer before you put it on the REO, and you don't....you can fill it by squonking it....just make sure you get enough juice in it. (Squonk it a couple of times and let it soak in a few minutes. I used to squonk it and suck on the carto at the same time to get the juice up into it.) That's all.

Cool you were in Oklahoma.....and yeah, the beer. Ha. I think we actually still have a few "dry" counties. Ha.

I hope your juice comes in tomorrow. I can't wait to get the reports from you of how it's going. Aren't you excited? I'm excited for you. When I first started vaping, I really didn't even intend to quit smoking....I was just so sick of spending over $5/day on cigarettes. I thought this would "supplement" my habit and save me some money. Anyway, within a day I realized that it would be easy to just skip the cigarettes altogether. But....I still smoked a little because I kept thinking, "I MUST want a cigarette." Within about two weeks of getting my first little e-cig, I totally preferred it over my cigs. I kept a half a pack of cigs in my kitchen cupboard for almost a year, then finally tossed it.

What color Grand did you get? If you said, I don't remember.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but my reo grand arrives tomorrow and I can't wait. I am a reo newb, but lisa and rob have given me some excellent advice. I'm really excited. I didn't think this was worth making a new thread. But I just needed to voice this over the interwebs. I am going to vape the hell out of it.

i received everything except the juice.

So all weekend i've stared at my metal box and charged my batteries.

Due to my track record on quitting smoking not 1 of my 6 boys or wife have shown any interest in my 'stuff' yet.

couple of newbie questions

when you change flavors do you change cartomizer?(can you reuse the cartomizer later?)
If you change flavors with the same cartos the flavors will tend to mix. You can remove the cartos and use it later if you wish. I always just keep it on and usually love the blending of juice!

why are there so many different cartomizers?
Cartos come in different ohms, different sizes, different coils (dual coils and single). Add to that all the different brands and there are a lot.

Drip tips are for atomizers only? (I only see 1 threaded end of an atomizer)
With the cartos you remove the plug in the end. Just stick something in the little hole and pull out. Now you can use the drip tip. Atty's come with a plastic carto on top. Remove it and insert the drip tip.

Seeing how i've skipped the beginners phase of vaping (haha) and gone straight to the pros with the reo grande am i gonna be wowed when i go to an atomizer?
The cartos are nice and simple. I believe the atomizers give more flavor and vapor. So yes, you should notice a difference. The one thing is that they are a little more picky about the juice level. You must learn just how much juice it takes to get a good vapor. Over filling or flooding is common at first. There is also the opposite, the dry burn. That is when there is not enough juice. This can happen with a cartos too, but it is not as common once it is juiced a few times.

are all atomizers rebuildable or is that a silly question being that you need to build the atomizer?

Most atomizers are disposable. Those are cheaper and work well. The RBA cost more (there is one that costs less than a expensive atty) because you just replace the coil.

I'm such a newb. sorry for alll the questions. As much as i like the look of my grand, if i stick with this i must have a wood version seeing how my trade dictates it!!

Don't get me started on the wood REO's! Last count I have collected 39 of them! I love all the different woods and different styles.

and am currently 'vaping' large hits of vapor

:vapor:

slight gurgling noise from grand? did i overprime approximately how soon before i squeeze the bottle again?

i'm developing a complex because it looks like a 'dugout' if you know what i mean

so far so good though

thanks everyone

another silly ?

i'm using 24mg strength juice. how many hits equal aan actual cigarrette?

There's really no correct answer to that since there are so many variables involved;

Nicotine is not absorbed as readily when suspended in water vapor as it is when suspended in smoke.

How long is the draw either on a PV or a cigarette? Short, shallow draws, long deep draws?

Nicotine absorption varies depending on an inhale into the lungs or a draw into the mouth then exhaled through the nose for a more intense flavor.

Absorption can be effected by strength of battery or volts vaped.

The list probably goes on and on.

Basically there are two schools of thought;

Vape as often as needed to stave off nicotine cravings.

Vape until unconsciousness from nicotine coma... then back off.

Good luck. Find the setup that works best for you and you WILL stay off the cigarettes. You'll certainly feel better but if you need more motivation take a look at your herd... er... six sons. It's worth it just for them if not yourself.

Oops... oops... damn... I fell off my soapbox!

Gurgling in a carto usually means liquid in the center tube. It you take it off the Grand, point it at a light source, and look straight thru it, you should be able to see thru the center tube. If you can't, lightly blow it out into a tissue or paper towel.

A crackling noise is normal for most cartos when you first start using them.

It's hard to equate vaping to cigarettes. Puff on it until your craving is satisfied. If you're starting to feel "green", you overdid it and need to put it down for a while. Drink all the water you can tolerate every day.

Congrats on beginning which I hope is a successful journey to getting off the stinkies. Because I'm a little paranoid bout running my atty (HH357) dry and killing it prematurely I like to have that slight gurgle. The throat hit is to my liking and the noise does not bother me. I squonk again when the gurgle is almost gone. Others may have different experiences but for my juice/atty combo its working well for me.

Oh yeah, after every dozen or so draws, gently squeeze the bottle while drawing on the carto, but don't hit the fire button. You should notice a change in pressure as liquid reaches the carto. You might hear a lttle gurgle. It doesn't take a lot of liquid to keep the carto wet. Too much liquid is bad.

The gurgling is okay/will go away....you're fine as long as you're not getting juice in your mouth. Squonk (squeeze the bottle) again when you notice the flavor waning. A full carto will last quite awhile before you need to re-squonk. You'll get a "feel" for it pretty quickly. If flavor or vapor changes, I'd squonk.

Glad you are enjoying lots of vapor! I agree with all above, usually when a carto gurgles I take a pull on the carto without firing, that brings the juice to the top to be absorbed into the filler of the carto and it usually stops. If there is a lot of excess juice, do like Officer Mudflap suggested and blow thru the threaded end into a paper towel or tissue, and that should clear it. Best of luck to you!!!
