I want a simple 3.7 18650 mod (have 4 batteries, 2 chargers. don't want to mess with more of a different size/type). I use mainly dual coil 1.5ohm cartos and now the DC tanks.

I like the simplicity of both of the above mentioned mods, and they're in the price range of what i'm after. I believe these should both work fine with the 1.5ohm cartos (correct me if i'm wrong).

But of course I can't decide...

Anyone by any chance has tried both (or even just one) and can say anything bad about either?

Is there something better in that ballpark?

Thanks for any input.

The bolt uses 18500 I believes. Other differences are the indulgence is a mechanical mod, and the bolt has an electrical switch. I myself prefer mechanical, but there not perfect.

Edit: After further research there are extender caps for the bolt that allow you to use 18650 batteries. Either one will hold up well, but because the bolt is basically a silver bullet, and those things go forever, I would go with it. Just my 2 cents.

Well heres the thought. Mechanical should theoretically never stop working, even if submerged in water, with proper maintenance. Theres nothing that can really go wrong with them. But a electrical switch will quit working if so many amps go through it, making it slightly safer, in the even of a battery malfunction. I just prefer mechanical mods cause Im brutal with my mods. But the silver bullet/bolt are as tough as they come. I'm going to pick up a bolt myself.

I own an Indulgence v3 and like it because of its simplicity. But it seems from its shape (i.e. the connection is raised and there are no threads on the outside, at least not on the version I have) that it's mainly intended for standard-sized 510 atties / cartos. This doesn't mean you wouldn't be able to use a tank (or any other 510 system), of course, but it might look a bit strange. If this doesn't bother you, go ahead and get one :).

P.S.: I know that there is no need for threads on the outside of the connection for tanks, but this is what makes the Indulgence look a bit weird with some other atomizers, such as eGO-Ts and the A2 I'm using on it.

I have both the indulgence v3 with the ego threads and a red bolt with black spacer. They are both nice solid mods that work every time the button is pressed. The Bolt is a little more solid then the Indulgence but the indulgence is slightly smaller and more hand friendly. Both are great devices I would personally say the bolt is the better value for the money but that may just be me.

Thanks for teh input darkside, I went with a black bolt and a red extender ring, the mod gave me that 'rugby' feel when i saw it, the stripe will fit it perfectly i think :)

One other thing, perhaps someone can chime in on... I only have 4 UNprotected Tenergy 18650 batteries, should I be taking the warnings for the thing blowing up in my face very seriously? or are they more like "warning this coffee is very hot" kind of a thing? i.e. should i buy new batteries all together?

The warnings about unprotected batteries should be taken seriously (especially when stacking, but that's not applicable here, of course because you will be using one 18650 in the Bolt). But that doesn't mean that you can't use these safely. You will just need to make sure to handle them with care, i.e. don't overcharge or undercharge them - you can use a multimeter to make sure they are in the right voltage range before / after charging to assure this. Also, don't ever leave the house while charging mod batteries and check regularly if they are fully charged already. If you handle unprotected batteries with some respect and use them only in mods with venting holes (blow into the mod from one end with the other one closed and see if the air is able to vent from the tube, if you aren't sure), you will be fine.

P.S.: I'm not saying that protection in batteries is useless, but safe handling just cannot be substituted by technical protection. In a sense (not trying to dramatize, of course ;)), batteries are not unlike guns - you can have the best safety functions in a gun and still you're asking for big trouble if you disregard basic safety rules... Therefore, the rules above apply as well for protected batteries because you cannot be sure that the protection is actually functional.

No overcharging would be above the 4.2 limit. Most chargers will not let the battery charge over that, but its a good idea to get a multimeter so that you can check them off the charger. I don't check every time myself, but when I get a new battery or charger, I'll check it every time for a week or so to make sure its working properly.

If I were you, I would not buy an Indulgence V3. I've had two, and both have stopped working. On the first one, the atty connector pin fell out. I could look into the mod and see that a soldered wire (yes, a soldered wire) had lost its solder joint, allowing the pin to fall out. It was NOT all mechanical as advertised. I returned it to the vendor, who sent me another one. He "explained" that he must have accidentally sent me one of the prototype units and assured me that the mod was all mechanical. The replacement he sent to me has also stopped working. The center pin on the new one is loose, and floats around, but I haven't pulled it up to see whether it has a wire, but I would bet dollars to donuts that it does. Bottom line, I don't buy that the Indulgence is all mechanical. I know for a fact the first one that I had was not.
