Well I have some questions
1. How long has vaping been around?
2. How many people who are vaping have had cardiac arrests?

The way I look at is like this. There's people that have years on me with vaping and their my guinea pigs as far as I'm concerned. When you 2+ year vapers start dropping like flies, then I'll consider quitting.

Also, when I'm vaping, and I'm vaping more than smoking, I notice how much better I feel. I can feel my blood flowing more freely. I wake up and feel refreshed. I feel like I actually slept. I don't cough incessantly.

Anybody else have anything to add to this supposed nonsense about cardiac arrest?

I had a friend who was trying to quit smoking that passed out once. He was wearing a nicoderm patch, had smokeless tobacco pouches between his toes and still decided to smoke a cigarette. His eyes rolled back in his head and he dropped. It wasn't a heart attack though.

Sure too much nicotine could cause a heart attack. So could too much caffeine for that matter.

I'd say that so far, my body seems to be an accurate measure of how dosed I am. I vape 6mg nic, and chain vape in the evening/night. So far I've only felt 'out vaped' one or two times, in which cases I just put it down and do something else. Cigs made me feel 'out smoked' far more often and far quicker thanks to the concoction of 'nicotine delivery' specific chemicals in there that I'm not getting with ejuice. Only time will tell I suppose, but so far, my body has been letting me know that all is well.

I have experienced what I 'thought' were chest pains. Turns out certain juices cause a bit of reflux, this one was a particularly strong cinnamon flavor. Switched flavors, and it went away. I also feel like I breathe easier than when I smoked, but I'm only 3 weeks in, am looking forward to it getting even better.

I take like 75 hits an hour of 24mg strength and feel nothing, so I'm not worried about it. I run 2 miles per day.

You know what I think causes heart issues?

Conflict, anger and stress. I have researched enough myself to conclude that cholesterol has nothing to do with heart attacks, my opinion and my belief of course.

I don't recall this subject coming up when I got my MBA, of course that was mumble, mumble, years ago. So maybe they have biology courses in business schools now?

Seriously, nicotine does cause cardiac arrest...in chicken embryo's
http://www.ppt2txt.com/r/14804b2d/

also "Nicotine is known to be a notorious a vasoconstrictor meaning it constricts the blood vessels of the body resulting to high blood pressure"

So I suppose it's possible that if you have heart disease, a high dose of nic could set you over the edge into cardiac arrest. But as far as I know, all tests show that ecigs provide less nicotine into the blood stream than cigarettes.

I will go out of that limb a little furture....
I think a little Nicotine/PG is GOOD for you.

It relieves stress and sharpeners mental agility.
It may even reduce the plaque buildup in brain cells leading to dementia.
I believe the pg is helping to stop viruses from taking hold.

I KNOW I am breathing better, sleeping better-my blood circulation IS much better and....
I'm not running around worrying about the next cig.

So, I think that guy is full of himself.

That was very well put, my life is very stressful.... my DOCTOR has commended me on my vaping and sticking with it! Combined with my weight loss (almost 92 pounds since May last year)....... I DOUBT vaping is going to be my end!

I like the way you think, that is going to help me cheerily go forward. :D Anything is better than the stinkies.

I'm no doctor, but nicotine appears to be a relatively minor stimulant and vasoconstrictor, at the levels we use. Pretty similar to caffeine for me.

I'll periodically vape while working out on a stationary bike. I wear a heart rate monitor, to get an accurate calorie count -- I don't see any crazy spikes, and certainly don't feel any discomfort, even exercising pretty rigorously. I'll do 50 minutes, 5-6 days/week

(I surprised my GP, who was positive that I would show signs of my decades of PAD smoking on a lung function test for diving. After 2 years vaping I showed above average [good] across the board -- she's in favor of vaping now :) )

If it helps you I have a doctorate in biochemistry and his warnings are a crock, imho. I currently am a consultant and work with a top Biotech company. I've studied many e-cig studies (their methods of both quantitative and qualitative analysis) because I needed to know for myself as well. In addition, my father is an Internist, general surgeon/abdominal specialist surgeon & ob/gyn for 30+ years who supports me vaping ^^.

I also have a Juris doctorate in law and that has nothing to do with knowledge of the safety of e-cigs just as his MBA does not.

Having said that, nicotine in too high of doses can be fatal just as anything else, so just stay within the safety of the drug.

So vape on, and avoid the haters.

I have had a heart attack and recently had a stent fitted after 30 years of smoking 1 1/2 pad of reds. I monitor my blood pressure and heart rate every day. In my case i can confirm that vaping has never significantly raised my bp or hr.
IMO I agree that stress is the number one cause of heart attacks, followed by excess weight and then smoking, and i would consider vaping no more dangerous than drinking 3-4 cups of coffee (or a can of coke).

2 things.
1: an MBA is a BUSINESS DEGREE, it has .... all to do with medicine.
2. You do know that a PhD can be obtained in reading right? Just because someone has a one does not mean that they have a clue as to what they are talking about.

Nicotine gums and patches are in liquid form. Both have full FDA approval. Education and common sense don't always go together.

omgosh flintlock, if you only knew how many times I've said that "education and common sense does not go hand in hand" in my life... I've run into soo many snobs in my business and I always say that. Excellent ^^
