My post earlier in the thread should carry the same weight. IF you dunk yourself into a tank full of 5000 gallons of water wearing a weight belt you will drown. But it is perfectly safe to drink and even to cleanse yourself with. It is the dose that is the issue, not the substance. I doubt very seriously that anyone who vapes will ever take in 60 mg of pure nicotine at any given time. It would take a chain vaping session like none other to achieve that. The rate of nicotine absorption versus the rate of nicotine leaving the body would require quite a bit of vaping to ingest 60 mg of pure nicotine.

This is true, and he might not have explained it well but its a serious risk.

30mg/kg-60mg/kg of fully absorbed nicotine can be fatal in adults through an event such as cardiac arrest.

The reason we can vape e liquids as high as 30mg is that we dont absorb a very large portion of what we inhale. The process of nicotine absorbtion through vaping is very inefficient for the strength of the e liquid, cigarettes are much less concentrated but much more readily absorbed by way of the chemicals in them.

Because of vapings inefficiency, you would feel right away if youve vaped too much and you would most likely before you ever got close to having a heart attack.

The above analysis applies to well-made and measured e liquids. If, however, you vaped the liquid nicotine shipped for DIY, you stand a good risk of serious poisoning, which is why DIY must be taken very seriously. Its often best left to the experts at AVE juices and others to get you the good and safe stuff.

DIY is not magic or rocket science. Not everyone has the time or knack or desire to try it, but that doesn't mean it's a particularly arcane area.

My primary nicotine base for mixing, for a year now, has been 36 mg/ml -- no more, or less, safe than 36 mg/ml fully mixed eliquid, as is available from a fair number of vendors. If someone uses higher strength nicotine base, 60 mg/ml or 100 mg/ml, the precautions get greater, but they are fundamentally care in measuring, use of gloves (and eye protection for some), good cleaning, and care in storage, the same precautions used with many chemicals that can be found around a home.

I have a couple of diplomas, certificates, and one degree, but the most valuable thing I have is a good BS detector. It's worth at least as much as a PHD in life situations. If vaping was a significant contributor to heart attack, people who wear nic patches would be in dire situations and smokers would fall out in the break area after huffing two or three and rushing to get back to their desks.

It's more about what you eat and to whom you are related ... like cholesterol numbers.
