I miss these so much!!! Disney cartoons - donald duck, mickey mouse - YouTube
Awesome thread!
Now, I have a question. I wonder if anyone remembers a cartoon from around 1987-8, featuring what I believe was a duck - he was a count or something and lived in a castle with a servant. Frequently mentioned the drachma and the humor was dry and intellectual. I only watched bits of it a few times while partying at a friends so I don't remember a lot of it or the name. Thanks.
Oh man, I watched 'em all back in the 70s and 80s. Rocket Robin Hood, G-Force, Superman and Friends (the phrase, "Meanwhile, at the Hall of Justice" is forever etched in my brain, along with "Wonder Twin powers, ACTIVATE!"), Heathcliff, Garfield, Transformers (Go-Bots were always cheap imitations to me), Hercules ("Herc!" Herc!"), all of the Hanna-Barbara and Looney Tunes cartoons ... geez, you name it.
There's one I can't remember the name of, I think it was a 60s production or something, but all of the mouth movements were real people's mouths superimposed over the characters in the cartoon. It kind of freaked me out but for some reason I found it fascinating to watch. It was some sort of space serial.
I always remember waking up Saturday mornings when we finally got cable and tuning in to WKBW channel 7 in Buffalo to watch the Commander Tom show, which had that station's weatherman, Tom Jolls, in the role of a space captain showing cartoons all morning. (It made perfect sense to my young self, of course it did!) And of course there was always a Schoolhouse Rock interlude in there. After that I'd watch Hal Linden host Animals! Animals! Animals!.
The good ol' days when cartoons didn't suck.![]()
No, it definitely wasn't Disney, I believe it aired on PBS. Much darker than Darkwing Duck.Darkwing Duck??
I may be alone in this, but did anyone else like watching Mathnet?
