Curly, Drew sent me a nice handwritten note with my last order from Bullcity. I really like doing business with them. He should have everything needed to make clone in stock now. I made 65ml of flavor base last week. 60ml is steeping in a 2oz. bottle. The rest I made into juice. It turned out to be good to go and I am going to make 10ozs of clone tomorrow.

Glad you like them! That touch of CS goes a long way, imo! I wouldn't have started DIY when I did if it wasn't for him. Great business. They have VT nic now as well! I haven't tried it yet but it's supposed to be the absolute cleanest nic available.
They seem to be getting a lot more popular now. So I try to stay on top of the flavors I need as soon as possible!

Been busy moving this past week and finally getting settled. Decided to RDA some clone last night and it really shines subohm. Two 30w and a new 50w mods are spoiling me rotten. Using a Helios RDA with large air holes allows direct lung hits. The vapor coats your mouth with flavor and puts new meaning into taste your juice. The bourbon emerges as the dominant flavor like it should and the other flavors are distinct and incredible together. I recently increased the VG ratio in my juice to 40% and I'm having some trouble getting Kayfuns to wick fast enough to keep up with demand at .5ohms. Believe I may return to 70/30 blend just for Kayfun use. The flavors seemed to carry a little better with more PG as well. The option is back off 26ga wire in Kayfuns. There isn't enough airflow imo in a Kayfun for that size wire. Probably the answer to my own question. Got things to do, more later.

So I am assuming this is the latest recipe that has gained approval?
Looks like all I need is coconut and brown sugar, I think I have the others....need to check before placing diy order.

Is bull city still the best bargain? I think they're out of brown sugar. I need nic base too..... I'm trying to order everything from 1 place to reduce shipping.

Now this sounds good, off to Bull city!

I've been meaning to ask you, have you tried inawera coconut? I was going to get some FA but BC was out. Have yet to try the INW I got though.

Well, I went to Bullcity and they do have a great selection of flavors from many vendors. They carry Inawera VG flavors in their original bottles also, I'm told, plus VT nic.

Unfortunately, the did not have all the ingredients for this recipe in stock at the present time. You guys musta wiped them out.

They only offered CAP in giant bottles for like 13.00 and I wonder if this is normal?

I'll try again at a later date 'cause this looks good. Haven't tried the original and don't want to cause I'm tired of paying the $$ for retail and am starting to get into DIY. Anything I make can't be any worse than the insipid stuff local B&M's produce.

Went through the thread. Just wanted to clarify my understanding. Bear with me.

Take all the ingredients in concentrate form and mix them together to make a CL concentrate. After that is done whip out the juice calculator and make my own mix of PG/VG/nic level using 10% flavoring from the concentrate??

If you want to do it in parts yes. Or just use the percentages if you mix like I do.

CL CLONE

4 parts 3.1% KY BOURBON TFA
3 parts 2.3% TOASTED ALMOND CAPELLA'S
3 parts 2.3% COCONUT FA
1 part .77% SIMPLY VANILLA CAPELLA'S
1 part .77% MADAGASCAR VANILLA FW
1 part .77% BROWN SUGAR EXTRA TFA

Thanks. That will do. Still a beginner at DIY but I'm liking Castle Long. CL and Grandmaster is what I'm going to try and make. BullCity is the place to get the toasted almond. WL doesn't have that flavor.

Bull City is the place. For everything! He's restocking now, should have FA by the end of the week. Dont be afraid to shoot them a email if you have any questions about stuff they're out of. The absolute best DIY vendor out there. I can't vouch for them enough! They're also carrying VaporsTek nic now, very clean nicotine. I'm currently comparing WL nic vs VT nic, too early for results yet but it definitely is making my fruity flavors "pop" a bit more.

This is the final version of this clone. CL CLONE

4 parts 3.1% KY BOURBON TFA
3 parts 2.3% TOASTED ALMOND CAPELLA'S
3 parts 2.3% COCONUT FA
1 part .77% SIMPLY VANILLA CAPELLA'S
1 part .77% MADAGASCAR VANILLA FW
1 part .77% BROWN SUGAR EXTRA TFA

percentages are slightly rounded

I have been trying to tweak CL since I first started diy'ing and have had much better luck with other recipes. I have a small sample of real CL and did a side by side on the same atty and wattage. The clone tastes pretty close to me on overall flavor but is somewhat harsh on exhale. It has much more of a throat hit than the original CL. Original is much smoother on the throat and a bit sweeter, almost a very slight mint on exhale. Is anyone else getting this when they do a side by side? I am wondering if less flavoring would reduce throat hit?

To reduce TH reduce PG or nic.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm already at 30/70 pg/VG on the clone and the original 5p is at 50/50 and vapes with no burn so I'm thinking it must be something else. Nic level was the same in my comparison 12mg.

What nic are you using? Also, I don't have any FA coconut but all my other coconuts need to breathe a couple. Hours otherwise they are fairly harsh

Using VT Nic. It behaves nicely in all my other recipes. Interesting idea on the coconut. CL has been heated and steeped for a couple weeks. Would the Kentucky Bourbon give that sensation at a higher concentration? Might try bringing that one down.

I'm just starting to use VT nic, haven't had the chance to do the clone with it yet, was using WL nic. It may, worth a shot I haven't tried it solo. But the coconuts (TFA Coconut Extra/Cap Coconut specifically, I have inawera too but haven't used it yet) retain a harsh "alcoholish/perfumy " bite unless I let them breath for a hour or two. I believe @jonhall was getting a similar problem but suspected it to be Madagascar Vanilla.

5% application of flavor base takes the harshness out and suitable for subohm builds. I am playing with flavor level now to see what works best overall. Bourbon could come down to level ground with the almond and coconut. At 5% I like it where it is. I don't care for real sweet vapes but brown sugar could also be elevated to closer resemble FP.

I have been noticing this. Some of these recipes and flavor percentages have been unvapeable tuh me cuz of the low ohms I vape at. I was just starting tuh notice that a lot of these flavors would come through for me at .5 to 7% Especially after steep and be real good. Great info. Most my mixes won't b exceeding 10% Anymore. and like u said Proly not even 5. Thanks for the recipe. I'll b mixin it up as soon as I get my hands on The Bourbon.

Yes but recent findings may favor using 1 less part bourbon and apply flavor base at 8% instead of 10. Brown sugar extra could be increased up to 2 parts depending on how sweet you want.
