This is the final version of this clone. As far as ratio, 50/50 works well.

i am working on improving my process of making juice from here. i am satisfied with the flavors but ethanol has to be released from new juice to fully steep out. right now i am letting my flavor base breathe to see if it will produce a ready to vape result. the FW madagascar vanilla is primarily giving me this problem. i bought a 4oz bottle and it is super fresh. i thought of decanting into smaller bottles and letting them breathe individually as needed but there could also be ethanol remaining in other flavors as well. breathe and steep the entire base came to me instead. i have made clone in 70/30 and 30/70 so far. both carried the flavor equally well and 30/70 will bring rain. i recently lowered my nic level and am going to make some 50/50 for more vape. high vg doesn't sit well with me personally but i think i can stand 50/50 now. time will tell

as far as flavor percentage, this recipe would have to be applied at 20-30% to reach FP. i stopped at 20% and determined maybe 5% more. 10% is still enough for my taste and i doubt i will try again with the new recipe. some folks may like it 5-8% subohm or otherwise. this is the biggest reason i got into diy. vendors won't tell you how much flavor they use. what high vg or pg really is. FP will not offer 24mg anymore. i guess too many were cutting it in half with vg to make 60ml 12mg. thats one way of cutting cost.

for amanda i turned on the heater when i uc-ed my last batch. took it out at 130F after 24 min. it did help enough to let me think of applying more heat like 150F to the flavor base alone and let it breathe and steep before making juice. i will still use minimal heat as above once a finished juice to make everything cozy with one another. i don't feel that 130F for that short of time can have much effect if any on nic degradation.

I steep mine at 150 for 4 hours. In the test we did in the steeping thread there was no nic degradation. I still let it still for a couple of days to settle down - it seems to take any sharpness away. You have to apply heat to the whole thing, because the nic affects how it steeps.

I can't imagine the flavoring at more than 10%, but I use usually a Reo with an rda or a Kayfun. The Kayfun mutes flavors by comparison, but 10% is still the max I could enjoy with this flavor!

I love ecig forum and all u people that share ur knowledge. I've read uh ton an learned so much. Made flavors I never thought I'd even like. This is super dope what u all do. Keep up the great work. Why pay 20 for 30ml when it only costs around 2. Lol that's what brought me here. Kina off topic but I had tuh say it. Keep mixin peoples. One love.

If anyone wants to buy some castle long, or other five pawns liquids, or other top shelf liquids.... wevapehere.com has a sale up to 25% off. I have no affiliation with them, but I have ordered from them before without any issues. And 25% off FP is kind of awesome.

check that post for the codes......

Awesome, thanks. But even with the discount, it's still cheaper to buy direct from Five Pawns. They do free shipping, and once you apply the discount, you're still paying for shipping... Works out about the same, maybe even a bit more from wvh.

Not really meant to buy a single bottle ;)

On!! Otherwise everything will evaporate and ruin the juice.
Gotcha. I've done it both ways and I don't really remember there being uh big difference. But I make really low nic mixes because I mainly subohm. So Thas proly why I can't tell. Was jus Curious how u did it. Thanx.

got in a hurry to make some juices last night and let finished juice go to 140F in the uc. that is where it cuts the heater off. i let it sit until cool before removing. just about time to fill a tank and see how it tastes.

i agree 10% is plenty. i could be happy with 8%. may be required with the 26ga gplat wire i am trying. i can't tell that much difference from nichrome. i do like the resistance it produces. i can't get 26ga nichrome 60 at TEMCO. it skips from 28 to 24ga.

CL CLONE

4 parts 3.1% KY BOURBON TFA
3 parts 2.3% TOASTED ALMOND CAPELLA'S
3 parts 2.3% COCONUT FA
1 part .77% SIMPLY VANILLA CAPELLA'S
1 part .77% MADAGASCAR VANILLA FW
1 part .77% BROWN SUGAR EXTRA TFA

percentages are slightly rounded

So I am assuming this is the latest recipe that has gained approval?
Looks like all I need is coconut and brown sugar, I think I have the others....need to check before placing diy order.

Is bull city still the best bargain? I think they're out of brown sugar. I need nic base too..... I'm trying to order everything from 1 place to reduce shipping.

It is the latest.
Ahh, they are out of brown sugar extra! That's where I get all my stuff. I talked to Drew and he is expecting things to be restocked.
Ecigexpress would be #2, their signature line is tfa, use code JULYINDEPENDENCE for 15% off excludes Cap and Tasty Puff

Actually, I just ordered from them, and that code now gets you 10% off, not 15%. But it's still better than nothing!

Really? I did too, didn't calculate the percentage, just going off what I read where I got the code. But yes, 10% is still better than nothing

wish i had known that code at bullcity was still valid but 0% is still better than no flavoring. had plenty of TFA brn sugar already so went to ecigexpress and got alot of FA coconut and quite a sampler of FA flavors. ordrered some rayon balls for wick. cost more to ship than purchase. the last juice i mixed from two week old remaining flavor base is the best result yet. this time i made 3-30ml bottles and will get a chance to see how they steep out over the course of a few weeks. i will make 2oz. batch of base when vapemail arrives and let it sit till needed. each batch of juice from the same base got progressively better sooner. the last got to sit for two days after making and is good to go. i am off the fence and on the side of using heat when mixing base and when making juice. the uc limits heat to 140F and i don't apply it for a long time. just get it there and let it sit until the bath is cool. the juice is not discolored as if the nicotine oxidized at all. my four kayfuns all have clear m-tanks and contain a variation of clone. each is a different color and darken daily as nicotine oxidizes. the last i made is practically clear and doesn't see a second day in the tank it's so good. i guess i remain on the fence as to whether i want nicotine oxidized or not. perhaps an unflavored test and titration is needed. amanda, if you know of a thread this has taken place please advise.

I think Mike petro did that test in the uc steeping thread? About a month or two ago.
I can't remember what the results were tho.

He did - I was one of the ones who did the testing! Results were that UC at 150 degrees for 4 hours won out slightly over crockpot same temp same time - but not enough to warrant buying a UC. This was done against a control where the sample was not heated or put in a UC. Big difference for tobacco flavors (which is what we used for the tests - RY4D).

The results are buried somewhere in this thread:
