We're probably looking right around $300. The chip alone is $70. I am going to have to have a pivotal part made by a machine shop, I'm currently drawing it up. And once I have a price that 100 of them will cost I will be able to give a solid price but I'm betting the piece alone will be close to $100. If I'm wrong and they can do it for $50-60 we will be closer to the $250 range. I'm super stoked about the mod btw.

I've been stoked about this style mod for months!! Soooo glad you decided to make it happen at a reasonable price point!

Much more than likely I will be using a fdv modified to my specs. I will do the modification as I'm always let down by the work of others.

Just a heads up: I ordered 50 more boxes for the Cam-M this morning. Trials have gone very well. I can't wait for you guys to understand what the top fed people have been telling us for years; nothing hits like 2 18650's. Forget what you know about xx resistance feels like. In a world with almost no battery sag .40 on a dual mech hits harder than .30 on a single 18650 and will do it all day vs 3-4 hours of great followed by a few hours of meh...

I haven't decided whether or not to remove the "VERTEX" from the front side or not. Thoughts?

Looks fantastic tom. My vote is to remove the name, I much prefer simple clean design. Would love to see the internals if you get a chance. Also, did you ever disclose the safety mechanism? Is there anything to mitigate a hard short?

Like this: I'm in between a men's medium and large glove and I have no issues.

This device is the exact width of 3 18650s plus 6mm of aluminum. I have spoken to the 18650 delegation about becoming thinner via dieting and exercise but they have not returned my calls. I am hopeful however.
This mod is not built to become the new standard, this was created to bring dual battery power, long run time, hard hitting, 8-12 hours of juice and battery, and value all in one package. If you are looking for svelte and glamourous this isn't it. There are several other options at 3-10x the price that will do that... But none will hit as hard or with similar battery life, period. As the hot rodders would say "There's no replacement for displacement" think of this as a big block Chevelle.

Extreme heat in the fire button would be your safety. At 60amps it will warn you very quickly. If it's a matter of a shorted coil it should burn the kanthal to clear the short with no problem. I would suggest a 510 ohm checker before installing any atty on any mechanical device but I'm sure you were already well aware of that.

I tried a .09 ohm build and it quickly let me know that that was not an option, it pushed it fine but the button did get a bit toasty. At .25 it was fine. I'm pretty hard core for a bottom feeder but on this my personal limit is .33 and that's only with a Marquis. .33 in a derringer on this would be insane!

Wow looks great Tom. I'd also vote to lose the vertex logo if possible for reasons mentioned above I too prefer a clean look. Does look great, really can't wait to try it!

Figured I'd get in on this awesome mod. Still not sure about that R model. My finances are kinda squeaky tight. And I've never done regulated before, always mechanical. I always intended to try it out by getting a cheaper clone regulated box mod to try it out.
