Excellent Atty, still my Favorite, though the Manta 2 Clone I have is closing fast, neck & neck with my Atomic Clone.

I missed it too, no Vector, but my three faves are side air, though the Manta 2 has top intake, the feed comes from the side... I think Russ' comment was ~50% tongue in cheek anyway, and if side air works for us it doesn't matter.

... Nothing like burning the bridge to the world's preeminent BF atty modder/supplier. You can't please everyone, not matter how hard you try. And, I know you try hard Tom.

Of the ten CH Atties I bought I've been pleased with his work 100% of the time. The one atty which didn't suit my style has noting to do with CH at all, purely an incorrect choice by me... bye-bye WharfRat, done let the door hit you on the way out!

Below a .4 Works well for a .5-.7 if you choke up
The air a bit. I have built about a dozen sets on it. And 24 gauge dual 5 wraps is where I found it to shine for me.

KS, a couple of pages back, Tom said he got 50 addl Vectors. Maybe yesterday ? Usually he doesn't want payment until they're ready to go. He doesn't like having both your atty AND your money . (But I'm waiting for an answer to, "Time to pay?" myself.)

TC doesn't work when you use contact coils. They have to be spaced coils. If they are contact coils, the chip misreads the resistance and gives you bad temp readings.

Hmm, Thats funny...Using contact coils myself with no issues at all.

lol everything I say is basically tongue in cheek . It's hard for me to be serious. But I did make a less than 1 minute vid just now of the builds on my vectors. I do bend the neg legs but do not center the legs on the coil mass with this atty cause it doan need it

This is the greatest atty I've ever used. Just built #2, no glowing legs this time - put it on the Woodvil, Wakonda of course - game over. I absolutely love Derringers but they were just topped.

Tom I want a third Vector, can I PP you or do I need to hop on a list? I'll get a fourth too, but I can only afford one until next paycheck so I'll take the gamble on the 4th and wait.

Nope, straight up 28g ni200 although I have played with 26. The trick is to make sure your wraps are making proper contact in order to avoid hot spots. 3mm 28's built to 0.11 ohms.

I freehand wrap using one of these...( jeweler's looping tool) The small one of course.
