I thought the cam-R was going to have the sx350j chip and Im getting a tmod with one of those in it. So I went for the cam-mech.
Now I read its the dna200 chip so thats different to what Im getting.

Though I have zero knowledge or experience with these lipo cells.
I gather I would need to buy a specific charger for them ?
They seem a tad touchy , balance charging and such. Don't know if thats accurate or just the usual be aware spiel.

PhD Metallurgical Engineer here (graduated 1984). Titanium (and Kanthal and Nickel and ...) oxidize at pretty much ANY temperature, including room temperature. They simply oxidize more rapidly and sometimes into different stoichiometric compounds at elevated temperatures and different partial pressures of oxygen. Inhaling mass quantities of titanium dioxide dust is suspected to be carcinogenic - like almost all nanoparticles. However, I don't know of any reputable studies showing that an adherent titanium scale on a coil is a health risk. And igniting a titanium coil (not the e-liquid, but the actual coil) pretty much requires incinerating your wick first, and a lot more. And there isn't enough surface area on a wire to burn away the coil. Worst case, one point will melt and the coil will create an open circuit. Igniting a titanium coil while dry burning is also pretty difficult to imagine. At least if you're conscious:

Do your own research people, and stay in your comfort zone.

Excellent video :) If you don't mind, I have some questions to help me be better informed.

What grade wire was that in the video? The grade makes HUGE difference, yes? What reaction does it have when in coil form with wick, juice, and unregulated heat with several different grade wire? I am interested in seeing something where it is applied in a vapors environment, and with differing grades. You never know when a lower grade could be packaged as Grade 1.

A gentleman I work with experienced respiratory arrest using Titanium wire. I don't know the details of how it happened or what went wrong. He hasn't returned to work yet.

Tom...you've outdone yourself again. Thanks buddy! I'm so happy to have a Tugboat back in the rotation. The dotcom rda is a beast and the Nectar is everything you said it would be. The Derringer and the REMatty are still perfect. That Derringer is one of the first ones you modded...CAM batch 1! I really appreciate the quick turnaround.
For those who haven't considered it, the Tugboat with a slam cap is a fantastic bf atty. Flawless Vape Shop has gold plated ss center posts....Tom can take it from there.

The CAM-M rev2 is almost done. All of the milling is done it currently re-engineering the 510. Not happy with the Fdv BF 510. Seems to leak no matter what I do. I have an idea.....
Specs:
DNA 200
850 mah battery 60c rated (51amps of inrush current ability)
Full power not derated.
10-12ml bottle
2-3/4 wide 1" thick.
Working on:
User friendly battery change
No hose, no tools, rock solid, squonk bottle mount.
Anodizing
Rough pics up soon.

Sounds awesome Tom. :thumb: I'm intrigued by the no hose squonk bottle mount. Sounds like you could eliminate a lot of problems with no hose.

A gentleman I work with experienced respiratory arrest using Titanium wire. I don't know the details of how it happened or what went wrong. He hasn't returned to work yet.

Honestly, the small level of impurities in any grade of commercially pure titanium wire has minimal impact on its combustibility in wire form. Unless you feed it highly concentrated oxygen, there simply isn't enough surface area or local heat generation to continue the burn. Heat conducts down the wire, oxidizes it, seals it, and the flame snuffs. Piles of powder or machining swarf can burn in a self-sustained manner. A coil? Not likely.

Just an observation - people go into respiratory arrest for a lot of different reasons. Assigning the cause to the Ti wire wouldn't really be any more valid than blaming his e-liquid or his brand of socks, without relevant data.

Here's an interesting old paper on the combustion of titanium and zirconium for anyone interested in the subject: http://www.sciencemadness.org/scipics/the_combustion_of_titanium_and_zirconium.pdf
Does a pretty nice job of explaining the Ti burn seen in the video I posted earlier.

Vape safe people. And have a great weekend.

Hoseless ......sounds great!! Always considered this one of the weak points of the squonker design
