I'm searching for a 1000mah 30+c cell that will fit properly. I'm looking at hard case options now that will make battery swaps simple. As it stands with the Deans ultra connectors it's a bit fiddley... My workable but not quite ready for prime time. My goal is fit and finish much like a Sunbox but with full usability. I'm working on an external jst port to allow FAST charging. Who wants to wait an hour when it can be done in 20 minutes? Not me!

Sounds good tom. So you're not using temp control, right? How hot are you running that marquis, and how much juice can you get through on a single charge?

The Marquis and Velocity are the two attys that scream for more power. I'm currently running 70w into the Marquis at .49 ohms. I built this atty for TMod use months ago, I saw no need to rebuild. I tried 200 watts and a very wet pair of wicks yesterday, I don't believe I will be trying that again. People need to understand that the whole point of the 200w isn't to suggest that people utilize all 200 watts, it's made to be powerful enough that you don't need to worry about the power war and becoming outdated.
As to run time I hammered the crap out of it, more accurately it hammered the crap out of me yesterday for 4 hours when I ran out of time and had to go to work and it was still well over 50%. That includes some time at 200w and working my way down, 100w is nice if you are ready for it but my daily use will be 60-80w. I might try it tomorrow with a nectar to see how it does with lower wattages.

I will have pics of the squonking system once my parts arrive. It's unlike anything else I have ever seen. Think full length stainless steel tube with a pair of ring magnets and an o-ring sandwiched in between. Similar to what Mundy did but with no rubber tube. Less parts equal less leaks. No screwing bottles to the mod. Just slide the bottle in and snap.

Current dimensions: 2-3/4" wide, 1" thick and 3-3/4 tall.

Ah....... It looks like it's waaaaaay larger in the picture. Rubs hands in glee. Looking forward to this.

I'm really impressed! So fit and finish much like a Sunbox. Very nice! Similar finished shape?? Smoother lines, more rounded edges than the prototype. Correct??

Great effort Tom, does look bigger in the picture but those dimensions quoted will easily fit in hand. Anodised finish ticks the box big time, more rounded corners I agree would make it feel better in hand but definitely looks like a winner, the dark grey, yes please [emoji6]

Very Nice! The specs and Catfish dedication to quality is what pushed me to jump back on the bandwagon... This is going to be a standout mod
Yep... I've been waiting for this mod since it was just a twinkle in Toms eye ;) I was a strong advocate for the SX chip but the more I learn about the 2 chips I'm really glad he went with the DNA200! :)

I'm going to try for a little smoother but not at the expense of looking like a cobbled together Hammond box or just a boring block. There is less than 1mm between the battery and the chip, also less than 1mm between the battery and the bottle. The entire box is 4mm larger than the three components stacked on top of each other. I might try the 1st version again with the chip and battery stacked and a 15ml bottle. It would be 1-1/4 thick x 2". I could probably do a teardrop shape like the boxer.

Except that amp will be divided by 3 batteries.

Have to disagree on that point. The voltage is divided not the current. 12v 3a to the pack, 4v 3a to each cell.

The external charge idea is golden.

It seems only logical. I can't believe I'm the first to think of this.

USB provides 5V
That's the whole point.. I'm not using USB input. I'm using external charger input which should be 12 v at 3 amps from this charger.
Turnigy P403 LiPoly / LiFe AC/DC Battery Charger

I would need a 4 pin jst xt bulkhead connection point to mount on the mod and a jumper to go from the charger. The only thing the 4 terminals on the board would do is act as a connection point (junction) between the jst lead going to the battery and one going out to the bulkhead connection point. Purpose: fast charging (3a vs 1a) without removing the battery to board connection. Essentially all three connections would be common with each other. My only concern is back feeding the USB with 12v. I don't believe vaping while connected to the external charger would be a great idea however.

If my logic is correct you would still be able to use the USB OR the 4 pin bulkhead to charge just not at the same time.

Next to the infamous orange E8 Classic. This should be about a 1/4" wider than an E7.
