I recall that CH said to aim 15 degrees off the post. But I thought that couldn't be right because I'd be blocking the airflow partially. So I went about 30 deg off the posts and that caused an annoying whistle. Didn't experiment enough because that cap is so tight!

I have 2...they both make a cash register sound......

I fooled around with single coil builds in mine, for a while. I didn't like any of them as well as my usual dual coil build. Air holes aimed at the coils.

I tried the single coil in mine, too. Didn't care for it. Back to my dual coils, all 3 airholes open and aimed at the coils. Need a bit of air with my builds, 26g, 5 wraps, 2.5mm for .24ohms. And I don't have any whistle either.

Ms Rule has one of those. It works for her. I've never been able to get her interested in bottom feeders.

I go back and forth...usually dual coils...24ga, 6 wraps or .26 nichrome 6 wraps 2.5mm. The only singles I've really liked were Claptons...but that fancy stuff never lasts very long for me. Kinda fun every once in awhile, though.

I run 2 of my stumpy's single coil for TC and one dual Kanthal with no whistle out of any of them. I have one air hole half-way open for TC and one air hole fully open for dual's. Air holes are not at the posts.

Are the single coils between the posts? Like a Z? or parallel to the posts. I was getting whistling with a Z coil but not when the coil is parallel to the posts.

Run my stumpies with duals and no whistling here as well. [emoji4] Got some dual tiger wire in two of them and regular duals in the other. My fave setup [emoji6]

I had a single Z coil in the stumpy and it whistled pretty good. Just put duals in and now is dead silent.

I'm going to miss the unintentional cat calls

When you are paying$27 for shipping that's how you do it! I hope you aren't upset with me but the Hastur you sent me was the first one with the obnoxious logo on it, I sent you one of mine from the improved batch. Both authentic but the logo was hideous.

If your Stumpy's are a whistl'in with a Z coil, try raising or lowering the coil a bit and fanning out the wick...

Can you guys post pics of dual coil builds that work well in the stumpy? I tried duals in one and it was horrible I love the Z coil but I feel like I'm missing out on dual coil magic.
