I love my twisted coils, but since I have been using more regulated squonkers lately I have really been enjoying claptons. So I still use my twisted coils in my unregs and they hold up so well , my last coil went almost 4 months before I rebuilt it. Also I always use flat ribbon in them just seems to bring out more flavor.

Hard to beat ribbon for flavor either straight up or twisted with round. Clapton's on the other hand also work well and cannot be beat in terms of longevity. No B.S, I have a set of dual 2mm 28g over 32 "one strand" ( meaning one continuous length) Clapton's ( from my very first attempt) built to 0.4 set in one of my Nuppin's on the #21 dibi that I have now been using for a year! Granted, they have not been used day in and day out, but they do have a lot of miles on them. I have been diligent in my dry burning and re-wicking with them and it has now become a game to see how long they will last.

Interesting beez, ribbon wire lasting long with potentially better flavor?....:)

A few months ago I asked DB about ribbon wire, he clued me in on what sizes to buy. I bought every size of ribbon kanthol Temco had available for our purpose, vaping, based on DB's recommendations.

I'm going to finally try the wire the week ahead since I have a couple atty's due for recoiling.

Any particular inner coil and ribbon size you like the best?

Generally I make coils in the .30-.50 range. What would you suggest I build- meaning ribbon size and inner diameter?

Additionally, are you making twisted coils using ribbon & round kanthol too?

Thanks for any help!
Dale

DB, what size ribbon do you generally use?

Any recommendations would be welcomed...I like .30-.50 ohm.. 2.5 or 3.5 size coils.

Thanks my friend...!

Keep 0.4 thru 0.8 in stock at my disposal. Don't be afraid to mix them up...;)

Yeah I'm loving my claptons, never really got into them until I got my cam r , now it's all I use in my regs. Aliens, stapled and ni200 for temp claptons love them all the flavor and vapor production are unmatched imo.

Just goes to show us that taste is subjective. I've played around with different twisted configurations of ni200 and found that I like simple straight up 26g roundy's the best built from .09 to .011 myself.

That's what I love about vaping there are no set rules to how to do it other than safety, you can make into whatever you like. I hit my 6 years last month and for the 1st 3 1/2 years it was to just not smoke, then I really got into the hobby of it and fell in love with building an just plain tinkering, then almost a year ago I finally decided to try squonking and the rest as they say is history.

@Chowderhead1972 , just saw a FB post for No Pity. It said ETA March 18 & list is already closed. Anyway, hope u can get them seeing as how I would rather go through you.

For a long time it was all about dripping in order to be cool. I can remember walking into B&M's ( something I often like to do when out and about just to check them out) where everyone was standing or sitting around dripping and blowing their clouds with a squonker in hand only to be asked " What is that?" numerous times and just as many times having to explain that it was a bottom fed mod and that squonking was like dripping from the bottom .

It's becoming gorilla warfare in the world of squonking these days when it comes to new high end BF atty's as evidenced of them being snapped up in a matter of seconds after release as well as lists that fill up almost as fast. With new squonkers coming out from both Kanger and Eleaf, squonking is about to go mainstream methinks. Of course, as most of us already most likely figured, it was only a matter of time.

I'd like to think that Tom is a big part of all this by converting and making available the number of atty's available to us that he has. But at the same time, I hope it does not end up becoming our curse. The good news is all about the relationships that have been formed and the bad news will be whether or not the producers are going to be able to keep up with demand.

Some of the prices that I have seen the flippers ask and get for some of this equipment truly boggles my mind. Trading a high end mod for a single atty? Really? That's nucking futs! :?:

Totally agree with everything you said. I think the No Pity list was filled up in a hour or less. I didn't even see it til 3 hours later when I had a break. Well at least @jhhollier can give us a review on the no pity. I think I saw his name on there.
On a different note.... And I may have missed this but how is the Hastur v2 stock with BF pin? I know by now a couple of ya'll have had one for awhile I think.

Unfortunately, no. I was sleeping when the list dropped because I'm a night shift vampire. I think somebody tagged me in the comments so I'd see the list.

I've noticed there are quite a few of us night shifters here, don't see that very often as I'm a midnight lifer 21 years now don't think I will ever switch.

@Chowderhead1972... Tom, if I've changed my mind on the LBC color, can I just shoot you an email or do I need to re-submit the form?
Just resubmit for now. After tomorrow night that method may change. Chad and I will be re-working a few things.

Just a not so subtle reminder: the deadline to preserve your ECF spot on the the LBC list is tomorrow night. The list will remain open for a few more days for additions and new people but if you want to keep your slot bows the time. The deadline is 29 hours from this post. Go....
