Mine are .75 to .9, I love that range in the stumpy. I backed off on wicking actually so far so good...crossing my fingers. Wick almost looks too thin but it is vaping great.I don't Sloth, but I have .8 ohm coils in the Stumpy's at the moment...when I had lower ohm coils it would spit like hell, especially with twisted wire....but I didn't try different builds, I just went with higher ohms, less power. Not enough time for experiments...I go with what works and leave it at that....![]()

I'm wondering if I've been over stuffing my wick all along, and it never showed me it's problem until now...if that's true it opens up a whole new world.I did the same thing Sloth
Due to the fact that cotton swells, and rayon shrinks, I used to pack the coil.
At one time, I even laid a little extra on top of the coil .. started getting dry hints on the second puff.
I have found that less is much better too.
I was afraid it would "gurgle", which it did ... but only ran into that when I added too little, so I have now found my happy medium. Now my KDG go's further.
Going to try the "bacon" now, just to see if there is a difference ... always playing![]()
Those of you using spaced coils, do you notice more spitback? I'm getting spitback on my spaced center stumpy builds![]()

...I'm diving full in again. Twisted wire and all. I've been a chronic overstuffer my entire life. Time to kick this pig in the head once and for all.Have mentioned it before and will mention it again. Spit back is caused by one of two things. A coil sitting in a puddle of juice or improper wicking no matter the configuration of the coil or the heat they are built to. Setting the coil to the proper height is the first part. The second part is all in the wicking. Spaced or not, the key is to make sure that the wick is making full contact with each and every wrap. It should be snug but not so much that it becomes difficult to pull " Back and forth" once it is threaded through the coil. It also should not "bunch up" when doing so. Once the wick is in place, then it's only a matter of trimming the ends to the proper length in order to be able to tuck it under each end and "fluff" it up a bit also to each end of the coil. This coil is built to 0.38 with only a very minimal amount of spit back and none of which makes it through the tip...
Edit: Also note that there is no "air gap" where the fluff meets each end of the coil.

This calls for a Video........I'm diving full in again. Twisted wire and all. I've been a chronic overstuffer my entire life. Time to kick this pig in the head once and for all.
What exactly do you mean fluff it up to the end?
Do you mean to literally fluff it, like push against the end of the wick before putting it against the deck, so the cotton kind of rises above the top of the coil a bit? With the exposed side of the coil being the "sides" the "ends" would be where the wick slides through the holes.![]()
I didn't say that.... The point is I have to work a little harder. I already have $15k of my money invested in the LBC it will happen.so your unsure if the LBC is going to be made then?well if thats true im glad my lil pinch sale didnt go through.sucks Tom hate to hear your gettin screwed.but thats capitalism at its finest i guess.screw b4 getting screwed.the whle narda thing sucked...period...my opinion anyways.
BTW anybody in here tried Le Magister and the Snapdragon? They are supposed to be great flavor atties and they have been cloned too.

I have 2 snappies. I like them for flavour and easy build results. Air is good for restricted DL drawing.
I also prefer the clear bell caps with them to the stock caps. It might be mostly a psychological thing as I'm not a fan of how tall the stock setup is, but I'd say I get better flavour.
I can't seem to get them to respond to my messages. I have tried. If you have any sway or were interested in putting a bug in their ears I would be eternally greatful. Is the twisted messes still an option Tom?

Good lord man... What do you wick those coils with? Stray cats? Lazy sheep?Just threw a pair of vertical 3mm Clapton coils in the Evolve & it's chucking for sure. There's so much room on this build deck I haven't found something that won't fit. I've run a twisted spaced 3.5mm down the center Stumpy style & spaced 3.5 duals horizontal, all fit with room to spare.

A little of both, living in NH sheep are scared of men anyway & it's bleaker than a Chinese food restaurant when it comes to stray cats....
