I see, says the blind man! :p I had cut mine before trying it (full length), with the shortness the vapor has to come out. I cut it thinking dripping would be easier, didn't even think about vapor having to build up before getting a full draw!
Funny isn't it, now we want one to crack so we can test with it! :D

Ha! I am anxious for my next one to crack. :)

I may cut one down and also cut the air tube down as well. The "stop" for the inner seal isn't wll that important for dripping anyway and I won't be using the inner seal anway. A dremel will make short work of both.

I just tried yet another method of reseurrecting a CE3 with no/low output. I soaked it in Spray Nine for a few days, yeah I know about flavors and chemicals. When I took it out of the Spray Nine I treated it to a brushing and then a "placque" removal with a dental pick, rinsed it and put it in a vodka soak. It sat in the vodka for three days, another brushing and rinse, a quick dry burn, re-assemble and it works like a champ once again. I wonder how many times this can be done and how long one will really last. I have two more "duds" soaking in Spray Nine right now. Man, am I cheap or what?

What is spray nine?

Man you got you got some patience. I may have done that once.... 10 bucks for 5 seems like a much better deal after the initial I can do it. You know though... I would mark that and just see how long you can 'er alive.

Not cheap, frugal! ;) I hate throwing something out if it's main function is still working, just needs a cleaning or tweak. I've 'recovered' several tools, kitchen appliances and the like with simple little repairs or sometimes just a quick clean! :D A side benefit is this kinda info will help a newbie or fellow vapers, and of course the personal satisfaction of figuring out and fixing something!:vapor:

I bought a 2k flat screen tv early on. Dang Samsung was cheapskate with their capacitors. TV wasn't turning on. Now I am an accountant who fixes things with hammers. Samsung wanted 600 bucks to come fix the tv. The 5 hours I spent on the phone I finally lost and cused the dude out until he hung up on me. I am usually very easy going.

So I googled it and saw a u tube vid on how some guy solder in new capacitors. I went to Radio Shack and bought a 15 dollar soldering Iron some flux and some capacitors... less than 25 bucks. I came home and told my wife and kids they need to go do something for the next few hours while I try to figure this out.

Took about 2 hours... I have never soldered before. Tv is still working a few years later. The bad thing... Now my wife thinks I can fix anything.

I felt like sending the u tube guy a 100 bucks.

now that make me feel good since i just bought a cheap bottle of finger nail polish to try on a ce3 and all of my 5 nanos.

Used clear nail polish over what look like little "cracks". Crack being used loosely as they look to be about as much of a scratch as an actual crack. Havent noticed any difference in performance, they still drip the same too.

These sound like "stress" cracks and should not cause leaks. Mine have some of these and I've got no leaks. The "crack" in reference was an actual crack from outside to inside and mine was caused from a fall onto blacktop. That one had zero leaks before that and after I could feel and see the juice leaking through at that point. Performance is not affected by cracks, just loss of juice (through the crack, flooding of the coil and leaking out the batt or mouth end).

why do you have to use a drip tip?,,,i just take it off and drip 2 drops, then put it back on,it don't wear me out to much.,,,,LOL

I know this was a ways back but I just realized what you said here.
It wasn't having to remove it or that I wanted to drip through the tip, it was the tip is too little feeling in my mouth. Feels like trying to drink with one of those coffee stir sticks. :p

I am marking all three that I'm trying this on, just to see how long they'll go. I wish I had logged how many fills they each had. Maybe next time.

Spray Nine is a rather strong cleaner similar to Fantastic only much more potent. I use it, among other things, to degrease a car motor. Just spray it on a warm motor all caked with grease and road dirt, let it sit for a while then hose off the grease and dirt. It also works well on cast wheels, getting all the brake dust and grime off but you have to be careful with it around paint or bare alloys. If you put some on a dried paint spot, like on a hard floor, it'll soften up even dried latex so you can get it off. It's great around the kitchen too because it cuts grease so well. It also is a germicide. I don't think I'd want to vape it as a liquid, but it sure does clean thing off really well. Home Depot sells it in gallons or some auto supply stores carry it in quart spray bottles. Been using it for years.

I thought about Gumout. It's pretty volatile stuff, exavporates very quickly and probably leaves little to no trace chemicals. Even if I use that, cleaning again with Spray Nine followed by a long vodka soak, with heavy rinses between each step, should remove anything that might be on the hazordous side of things. A quick dry burn after the whole process is just a little more insurance. Spray Nine is safe to use around foods, but you wouldn't want to drink it, LOL.

I used to paint cars, lacquer in the old days and enamel with clearo coat more recently. Remember Bo Pol, India, and, I think it was, DuPont Chemical? The same chemical that killed all those people is in the clearcoat on your car, and I sprayed it daily so hazardous chemicals are sort of second nature to me. I'm not completely nuts though, I used either a mask that filters VOCs or a mask with a fresh air supply, but still the fumes as everything dried and I cleaned the guns could get a little thick sometimes. If you use a little common sense and carefully and thoroughly wash everything, there shouldn't be much of a problem. Although, now that I have that third eye in the middle of my forehead, finding sunglasses can be a problem.
