About 3 weeks ago I gave up smoking cigarettes. I had the habit for 40 years, and when I stopped smoking, I was a 2 pack a day (full-strength red) smoker.

I am now vaping, and to be honest, I enjoy vaping just about as much as I used to enjoy all those cigarettes.

Here is what I am a little concerned about ... I find myself chain-vaping 24mg nicotine juice just about all my waking hours. I am going through lots of juice, and it seems there is always a battery in the charger waiting to be used next.

I don't have a craving for cigarettes anymore, but is this continual vaping maybe almost as bad for my health as all those cigarettes I used to smoke?

I would like to lower the vape to 18mg nicotine, but as much as I chain-vape this stuff, I don't see that happening any time soon.

Is there something very wrong with me ? ?

I was a 40+ year 1 1/2 PAD smoker, and after 3 weeks off cigs was chain vaping 36mg if my eyes were open. It lessens in time, and you will end up dropping the nic level also. I'm at 18 mg now and can put my rig down for hours at a time without cravings..:).. after 3 1/2 years. Don't try to rush yourself too much where you might relapse to smoking..:vapor:

I agree with stosh, bump up the nic level. I'd suggest going with 30 mg for the first few months then lower the nic level gradually.
When I first quit a 40 year cig habit, I used 30 mg and didnt need to chain vape at all. I got suckered into buying a bottle of 18mg juice from a small start up b&m shop near me (she still dosen't know what shes talking about btw) and it had me chain vaping like a mad man because I wasn't getting the nic kick I craved at the time. Went back to the 30mg good stuff from the only other b&m vape shop in town and the chain vaping was history.

It also could be that the juice you're buying isnt really up to snuff nicotine wise, maybe the shop is skimping on the nic they're mixing in. Some vape shops can't mix decent juice and only sell cheesy pre mixed crap like some gas stations are carrying. shop around.
Don't be afraid of nicotine, it's not a carcinogen and it's what you need right now to break the cig cravings. After all you're a forty year smoker, to think of going with 18mg now at only the three week mark is just rediculous, and it could cause you to end up back on the stinkies.

Vaping at too low of a nicotine level is like trying to switch cig brands from full flavor cigs to some airy light brand, it just doesn't cut the mustard. Try out a good 30mg juice and if your local shop is competent at mixing custom juice, ask them to make it a higher vg ratio like a 65/35 or 60/40 pg/vg ratio. It could be a denser heavier vapor would be more satisfaction for you then the harder throat hit of a higher pg you'd get in a 70/30 juice.
