Regarding those photos -

- Why so much cotton? Most people recommended for my other BF atomizers, to use tiny little wicks, since you can readily squonk and wet them again. The idea was that you were more often then vaporizing "fresh" liquid...

- If it's "just how you do it" - I'm wondering if perhaps the "tiny wick approach" also changes the vape by leaving room for air to swirl differently throughout the chamber. So - have you tested out the Chalice III with a tiny wick?

- How about those of you with earlier versions - do you use a lot of cotton, or a tiny wick?

You know, like this (not my photo)

That way the wick holds more juice, gives more flavor and vapor.
But it will work even with a small wick.

This, like so many other things in vaping is a YMMV and can change depending on coil build and juice used. Try both and in-between to find your own sweet spot. Short tails on a BF RBA can fix a lot of problems like;

  • clogging the hole preventing proper draining
  • Extra juice is not heated(cooked) and then blended back with the juice in the bottle shifting the favor, if this is happening you notice the color of the juice your bottle gets darker and darker as you vape.
  • Less flavor because of reduced airflow under the wick.

Me personally, I don't like cotton and use ceramic wicks with short tails and hollow centers. Here I'm dry burning a coil and wick that are 4 months old.

I always use short tails in a single coil small chamber atty. Just like in my picture there [emoji1]

Mark I have a question. I like everything about the III except the new coil position I use ceramic wick and like to get the full length in there and I'm quite good at the Z coils after 2 years.

Would all the new upper pieces fit on the older chalice base so I could utilize the airflow control and still coil and wick across the center?

I know its an expensive way to come up with one atty but hey :)

If not I think I'm out on this run :(

No, it will not fit.

was it released and sold out already or is that a place holder on your site?

It hasn't been released yet. Looks like he is just getting it ready.
I did see this. "For this run we will have only satin version and two extra screws will be included in the set for every Chalice II bought." underneath the pic. It should be changed to Chalice III. I am sure getting it right on the site is just a work in progress for next week. It will be interesting to find out the updated price,or if the current price is correct.
