I'd sure hope they'd be universal between Prodigy and pass-through otherwise not all the available parts are listed. I ordered a 901 Prodigy and 901 passthrough and a 801 adapter. There were not two flavors of adapters available at time of pre-order. So I will be curious how it plays out as well. Dually I'd think it would cost more to mass produce two unique adapters. Without the need for a battery it obviously doesn't have to be bulky like the Prodigy - but I can't see why it can't use the part and taper from a practical standpoint, considering the bad boy's gonna be tethered on thick 20G USB cable as-is. *yum*

From the Prodigy video, It appears that the End cap/Adaptor is a single aluminum peice machined to receive various sized atomizers. To make the adaptors interchangeable would require re-designing that peice to accept the smaller diameter PT adaptors, resulting in a two peice replacement of the already machined Prodigy adaptors.
One drawback with doing that is... It would add more length to the Prodigy which is already about 4.5" long.

Just talking off the top of my head here. Not sure what Steve has cooking at the moment, but I gotta say...To this point, I'm Lovin' the last minute design alterations He's incorporated.

With the update Steve has mentioned.... You could just get the 801 adaptor for the USBPass vs. ordering another complete USBPass to fit your 801's.

Hey Vaporize,

They won't have have the same adapters. The adapter is the Brass fitting AND and actual surrounding housing that screws on/off. If we put the prodigy adapter on the passthrough, it would be HUGE :)

I went ahead and sent an email to info@puresmoker.com to see if you guys will add a 801 adapter for the USB passthrough to my 901 USB passthrough order. I already had the 801 adapter for the Prodigy in my order since I bought all the gear you are offering ;) I just assumed they were going to be the same not for practical/aesthetic reasons but simply because you did not offer a USB passthrough adapter on the website at time of purchase.

Please add one to my order! (Order #16451)

Steve,

I'm guessin', if ya didn't already have so many balls in the air at the momment, You woulda jumped right on Walrus' idea/question... "I'm wondering if these adapters are interchangeable with the ones for the Prodigy?".

I'm assuming he was implying the opposite of your reply, ie. The PT adaptor on the Prodigy. I don't know what the dim.'s are of the PT adaptors, but if you redesigned the Prodigy to have a standardized top capable of receiving the PT adaptors and eliminating the current V1 adaptors, you would dramatically decrease your production and inventory cost, by cutting your list of required adaptors in half.

Appears on the surface to be alot of potential benefits to investigating His idea for future versions. The one glaring drawback I see is the likelyhood of added overall length to the Prodigy, But if it could be done with a very minimal increase in length, It would be a Boon, not only for you as the manufacturer, but also a great convienence to your customers.

WOW thats all I can say. Hey if you can come up with a battery design that looks like that and can swap batteries out of man I would buy it in a heart beat. I like slim, sleak, designs. call it the "mini me". dont get me wrong the new PV design is increadable but its to big for me. Something like that passthru would be perfect. That would be my final ecig. well good work once you have it in production i will buy that passthru and if you get a battery like the passthru ill buy that as well.

Steve Steve Steve... where's that 401 love? :p

Any word on if you'll be making 510 and 401 adapters for it, and rough ETA?

Thanks..

I have seen it asked several times and still not answered... I would also like to know if there will be a 401 version.

Appreciate your patience guys ... Its been a very hectric and stressful last couple of weeks!

-Steve

I am still utterly confused by all this. (Not hard to do though, LOL)

Will the USB passthru for the 801 (or the 901) LOOK LIKE the one in the above picture with different adapters/atomizers?

or will the USB Passthrough for the 901/801 looks like this picture below, for the 801/901 respectively?

Mpetva,

The most recent info from Steve (and I doubt it will change again prior to 1st run shipping) is that ...All of the USB Pass Throughs will resemble the top pic. The only significant difference between the 801/901/401/510 etc. will be the thread size of the adaptor (The metal collar between the button and the atomizer) that the atomizer threads into.
