It depends on how many packs of analogs you smoked a day. For me they are more then $8 a pack in my state. So for me I was spending over $240 a month on them. I am fairly new to this myself, but once you have all the gear the juice really shouldn't exceed that amount. It's really about getting your setup right, finding juice flavors you like, and maybe even learning how to DIY. Really for me, and I suspect a lot of people here it is more about the health reasons and not the cost.

I also seem to smoke more, but I think in reality it is less. I tend to just take a few puffs every once in awhile. It can be hard to put down a good flavor though!

what are you spending on with an ego t? once you have your setup it should just be attys either A or B and juice to buy. i know my expenditure is ive bought lots of mods, tanks and accessories to go with said mods and i still seem to be about even from when i smoked cigs.
another positive is you are alot healthier than you were and it gets better everyday.

Its cheaper for me. I use an eGo. At this point, spending money is up to me. I don't have to spend more, but I choose to. I have enough juice to last me quite some time. I don't have to get more batteries, but would like them.

Yes the start-up cost can be a little pricey but like the rest of us if we can afford to smoke, we can afford to start up on an e-cigg if we have found a reasonable vendor. You can also DIY juice to save even more. The health benefits are priceless.

By the way, what are djarums?

for me its a lot cheaper because I smoked regular cigarettes almost 2 packs a day and I only bought cloves on occation for a treat but I broke even about 5 or 6 months into vaping, my monthly maintenance cost is somewhere between 25-30 dollars, I diy my juice and buy cartos and atties in bulk on the cheap my monthly cigarette cost was somewhere around $360.00

djarums are an indian kretek (clove cigarette) brand and I have yet to find juice that is as good, but I'll cope. I felt ill after each djarum, and I feel alright with the ego-T so I guess that's good. I think I just need to slow down on buying new juices to try, and drop the content to less than normal

BTW, I dig it, don't get me wrong. I am loving the ecigs, and really loving the Ego-T. But damn I've spent a lot this month...

I think djarum possibly makes clove/tobacco mixed cigs. I know they make all clove cigs. But the actual nicotine content in the cloves isn't really comparable to tobacco. The flavor though is quite strong and so it may be that you're vaping constantly trying to recreate that flavor intensity. You might find more satisfaction by switching up some different liquids to try that are more flavorful, or by asking for extra flavoring when you order them as most vendors favored here tend to offer that.

I have eGo-T batteries and I'm using Resurrectors now and I probably run through 3-6mL of juice a day. Batteries like you and I have should theoretically last for 300 charges or so (maybe less with LR cartos) and that means you won't have to replace them for a year lets hope. You have to buy maybe a cartomizer every few days to every few weeks if you clean them and I'm not sure on the longevity of carts used in a tank. Figure the juices though at maybe $2.00 a day if you buy the best, maybe $.50 a day if you buy closeout or testing samples some suppliers have at lower rates, and the cartomizer is about a buck-fifty for a really nice Boge LR 2.0 or Smoktech 1.7 single-coil, both of which seem to have strong followings now. Smokes were eleven bucks a pack for me. So... I'm definitely saving money. If you make your own juices you'd probably save 70 or 80% of the those recurring costs. My guesstimate at least.

I've heard tanks use a lot of juice.

I don't let myself vape all time. I would enjoy vaping all the time but instead I put them in a nearby room so I have to get up and walk in there to vape. Since I am on the computer so much (thus my 10,000 posts here) that means I am only vaping every 15-20 minutes instead of constantly. Sometimes I do start reading and vape a bunch (2-4 cigs worth) at once but not all the time. Also after about 3 months of vaping I started lowering my nic one step at a time to a lower level and now my habit is less nagging.

Juices - I only shop the sales for my most-used juices. Fortunately they are at a place that has a lot of sales. And I finally got control of my new flavor buying habit and only spaz and buy a few occasionally. I do still have a bit of a hardware buying issue but so far have restricted myself to mods under $50 like the one I just bought 20 minutes ago.

if you dont have any grab a couple of attys to taste your juices to see what you like and dont like. what you dont like may be anothers favorite. you can go to classifieds and sell or trade your juices that you dont like so that always helps.

Ooh, djarums are yummy! I remember those fondly. ;) But glad to be free of cigs, now. Geez, they're really expensive, too! You're paying more for ecig than you did with a djarum habit?

I definitely save from cigs. I used to smoke American Spirits, and in my area they were about $54 a carton. I smoked about 4 a month. Now, there are months when i'm 'stocking up' and hit somewhere like Health Cabin and buy 8 packs of boge cartos and a ton of other stuff. Those months i might approach what I used to smoking. This month I went hog wild and invested in a ton of DIY supplies and a ton of really fabulous juices, but all those things will last me a long while. But other months, when I'm using stuff I stocked up on before, its practically free. I just broke this down for someone recently. Keep in mind I use Boge cartos with my Ego, not attys and cartridges. I figure in an average month, I go thru about 3 packs of 5 cartos. I can get those 15 for $22 at Crystal Clear Vaping (and they throw in a driptip! Snazzy!)

Crystal Clear Vaping

Then I figure in an average month, I go thru 2-3 ounces of juice. I vape my head off, truly. Even with my high end all organic juices, the most they cost me is about $17 each. Plus I usually grab a sampler of new flavors, just cause I ADORE my Virgin Vapor and she's always coming out with new flavors. That's $11.99. So that's about $63 in juice (but I'll definitely have some left over for the next month).

Virgin Vapor | Electronic Cigarette Organic e-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes

So we're at about $83 for the month, round up to around $90 with shipping. That's still about $110 savings from cigs for me, and that's using best of the best quality juices and cartos. But when I first got started, there were a lot of 'one time' expenses... stuff like a pass through battery and case and so forth.

If you're using attys and carts, I found that rather expensive when i used my old pv. But the big thing for me was finding the right suppliers and not overpaying for stuff just cause I was used to getting it at one place. I used to pay about $8 for a pack of 5 cartos, now I pay between $4.50 and $6ish. Those little savings definitely add up!

Hope that helped! Oh, another thing is it cost me much more than it does now when I was just starting out because I didn't know what i liked, yet. I'd buy 5 bottles of juice (this is before I found the fantastic organic ones) and flat out dislike 3 of em. THAT costs a bunch, buying stuff that you end up really disliking. Is that what's going on with you, or are you spending on one time components and stuff?

BTW, I was just at Onestopdiyshop for diy stuff, and they had a 'clove' flavor concentrate. They've also got artisan mixing kits with EVERYTHING you need to try mixing your own juices, including the unflavored eliquid and flavors. They range in price from about $36-40, I think. You might consider grabbing one of those, and the clove flavor, and whatever other ones you think you might like to mix in to get your perfect djarum blend. I think the kits come with 4-8 flavor concentrations of your choice. Once you figure out a 'recipe' (they'll help you in the DIY eliquid forum), you'll save an absolute TON. I get my eliquid for about $4.50 an ounce when I buy in bulk for diy, and the flavors themselves are pretty cheap, as is plain PG or VG. That would be a cheap way to go! Plus you can fine tune your recipe so you have it just right.

I have spent more on ecig stuff mostly mods then I have ever would have spent in a year smoking. In the beginning it was the ego and attys and cartos then came the ce2s then the tanks then.....lol the list goes on and on. I got my provari and thought I was done, then the mod bug got me and I wanted mods for diffrent voltages and reasons. Now I'm getting into modding myself, everything costs me money that I think is for a good cause since I'm saving my life. I compare the thousands of dollars I have spent, easy over $3000 in a year to saving money on the cancer treatments I would have needed had I kept smoking.

I DIY my juices, and one e-juice calculator figures cost, it costs me about 1.80 per 30ml to make mine. I spent a total of around $70 for a 510 PCC, an eGO passthru, 5 cartos and enough stuff to mix juices for at least a couple of months, so even at $5 a pack for analogs, it shouldn't take too long for me to be ahead. And that's not counting the health benefits, which are priceless.

I ordered my djarums from Bali for $80 for three cartons, but like I said they made me feel sick too, despite loving them...

Thanks for the link the Crystal Clear Vaping!

I ordered from MsT today, so I'm looking forward to trying those. And I think I'm going to cut down the nic level, as I use the ecig quite a lot while I'm studying
